What do you define a "ballistic knife" as? If you mean a knife that shoots the blade, those are totally available now (depending on your locality, they're pretty unlawful in the US).

Ballistic knives are lame, CO2 injection knives are where it's at.

Completely legal and available at the average dive shop from what I understand. Good enough for a great white, good enough for a thug.*

Brain augments on a wider scale a la Deus Ex HR / infolink, faster mental processing speeds etc.

Medical advances such as synthetic organs, built in monitoring diagnostic equipment.

World Peace.

However the first two are more likely via biological engineering than by adding mechanical things I think.

Asteroid mining.

I'm really interested in what we could do outside this planet, but I don't think much will happen until the situation with resources and overpopulation becomes really desperate.

THIS IS GONNA BE AWESOME.
Just got to wait 20 years and survive WW3 over the moon. Beginning of the Imperium though???

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

FTL, by any of the usual means, excepting those that subject humanity to warp demons.
FTL is our ticket to immortality and is the only technology that truly matters, with it we can handle all the other concerns, without it we are stuck here.

I am certain that we are not.
Doesnt matter either way, we get out of the gravity cradle or suffer cot death.

IIRC, if the blade is propelled with a gunpowder charge its legal. As an Any other Weapon.

So, gunpowder charge = legal. Spring loaded = Illegal.

Would love to see a commercial space flight for none super human astronauts and none super rich celebrities, for people like you and me, and obviuosly space flight not in a can like the current program.

But to see that i assume we would need medical enhancements to life longer then we can now

Noooot exactly. There was an episode of Sons of Guns where he was commissioned to build one. They're both unlawful, but you can get a license for a gunpower propelled one just like you can for a fully automatic weapon

And, the one they made sucked, and I think he refused to sell it in the end.

That's what GT said basically, you don't need to be set up for Class III (automatic weapons) to own one, but you do need to have it registered as an "Any Other Weapon" under the National Firearms Act. I'm not shocked it sucked though, it's a stupid concept.
