let this business die so that a genuine alternative can prosper.

Nearest other b&m gaming store is in fething Cardiff, so that's not going to happen.

I'm not going to pretend that they don't have their problems, but I won't let you or anyone else point a finger and accuse them of being unprofessional, incompetent or of somehow not giving a damn, because that simply isn't my experience of the people who run this business.

If you want your stuff quickly, don't order from TW. I'll never recommend that you do. But if you want 30% off and aren't too fussed if it takes a couple of months because, hey, there's already a huge pile of unpainted plastic crack on the painting table, so you might as well have some time to finish it, then go to TW. You will get your stuff.

I actually think you must have shares in the business or something.....clearly the behavior displayed by the organisation when conducting online sales has proved your above statement consistently wrong. This is supported by fact, my own experiences and other disgruntled ex-customers within this thread.

The weakness in your statement is further evident when you consider your previous posts and explanations - How many businesses do you know where a customer can telephone and nobody answers the phone? How many businesses quote 10 day lead times that turn into 30 to 60. The business has made no attempt to manage the situation and reassure customers by offering some formal statement explaining the situation.

These are fundamentals of business practice that need to be correct in order to build a successful sustainable business. The only reason why I am bothering to post about this is because if I can succesfully convince just one Dakka member to steer clear of this basket case of a company then I will be happy and the exercise will have been worthwhile.

In closing - You say that your experiences are good, however this is incompatible with the findings and experiences of others. You have purchased goods from a physical shop where you have walked away with your models, this is in distinct contrast of others who have ordered hundreds of pounds worth of models over the internet and have received nothing. They are completely different purchases with very different characteristics attached to them.

Why dont you try letting somebody you dont know hold £400 of your money for a month while they dont talk to you and dont answer the telephone, and if your lucky you might get your order in six weeks - trust me, your experience and thoughts on the matter will be completely different and will certainly influence where you direct your business in the future.

If they were honest about delivery times (just saying "we'll deliver within 28 days" would be fine), and got in touch well before the 28-day mark if there was any significant chance they'd be unable to fulfill the order, this just wouldn't be a problem at all. As things stand, ordering from them just isn't worth it. Too much chance that you'll spend way more of your time and energy chasing up a non-existent delivery than the discount is worth. And then have to cancel and buy elsewhere anyway. The day before the tournament. :(

Yeah, well, I can't argue with that. I do wish they were more honest online about the lead times.

For the record I have no financial stake in TW.

I consider Total Wargamer to be a local shop, as i grew up just down the road, but totally agree with all the comments.

The shop is fantastic, they make you fell very welcome and i try to visit whenever i am in the area. However the shop stock is limited, especially of GW products, so don't expect to be able to get everything you want.

Mail Order is frustrating me for the same reasons as everyone else. I ordered a load of Space Marines in mid March so that i can take a different army to Warhammer World in two weeks time for a session with my gaming group. If all goes well i will get the order next week, 5-6 weeks after paying for it.

Will I use them again? Probably but only for stuff i don't need quickly.

Agree completely they should just say, delivery is made with-in 28 days. If there's any further problems offer free delivery. its simple really. They still make a profit on the online orders or they wouldn't bother doing it.

Like i said before anyone still waiting for a reply, contact them on facebook, got a reply within minutes. And this time not a generic reply, but actually told my stuff will be in the post on thursday. if this isn't right i wont be buying again, if it is, i'm happy to order in the knowledge that nothing is likely to change and i should order well in advance
