I have a bunch that I painted with khaki-colored fatigues, and jet black armor. I think it makes them look very un-Cadian.

Use the FW Hostile Environment upgrade set, learn to paint a nice, dirty white ( using this tutorial for example http://www.coolminiornot.com/articles/1288-glowing-eyes-by-cyril ) and create an awesome looking Winterguard regiment.

Krieg! What a hole...

The more I look at the Cadian upgrade pack the more I wonder, are those 3x plasma/melta pack the best source for plasma/melta weapon for the IG or not?

Your only other real choice that's "GW legal" is the space marine resin weapons straight from GW, with their spotty quality control. If I were still running cadians I'd probably consider them a decent choice.

Do em all in a storm troopers theme(Black and white star wars guys) or all Cobra(Blue w/ red cobras) would be cool.

I am sorry but you are just flat out wrong about Cadians using only green and khaki. In the Codex:IG by Chambers and Hoar and Haines (Codex before current one), on page 31 there are 20 named CADIAN regiments depicted with 20 different color schemes. There are several different camo types (jungle, temperate forest, winter) and numerous other non camo uniforms that are predominantly, red, two-tone etc.

Their guard. You can do what you want with them. Although regiments colours are meant to be camouflage, unless its an "honour" like the cadian firedrakes. My guard are dark orange with kaki cloth, and lava bases.

I swapped the heads with Pig Iron products, changed the guns and painted the models differently

A good friend of mine, Treadheadz in this forum, greenstuffed the torsos and heads, added bitz to the weapons and did a different scheme.

Cadians are also shown to have used a sort of tigerstripe urban grey camo, if you take that first pic I posted as canon. Thats the 122nd if I remember correctly, they're in the old cities of death book that used that pic as a cover.

Thanks! As for the green stuff. I use regular not liquid green stuff. You could mix up the green stuff and let it sit for a little bit or add more blue to the mix. Make sure you wet your fingers and tools while working with it. Youtube and Articles are a good place to learn too!

Forge World Cadians with the Respirators and the Hazardous Environment gear look great but the 2 sets I got, the cables were messed up and had to be cut.

Oh @Steelmage99, I noticed you have a laser sight on some of those lasguns....

"Yo Dawg, I heard you like lasers. So I put a laser gun on your laser gun so you can shoot lasers while shooting lasers!"

They look real cool. Wish I thought about doing a theme like that.

40k is as exciting as riding a pony, which doesn't sound very exciting.......

But the pony is 300 feet tall and covered in CHAINSAWS!

I did two Half-Life 2 dudes a couple of years ago. Pretty simple actually

The Tick: Everybody was a baby once, Arthur. Oh, sure, maybe not today, or even yesterday. But once. Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. Mixing paints works well for me. As long as the colours are different from the cookie-cutter models in the books, you should be fine.

Wow I am slightly jealous of that desert guard!

When I initially made my guard I went with the standard equipment with little to no conversions.

You've inspired me to attempt some modest conversions to my guard since I am in the process of repainting. I think I'll give each one a ruck sack. I'll also see about adding a bayonet to each lasgun. Small things that can bring out the character of a regiment, you know?

So did the OP drop this?

IG 1st Cerosian Regiment (9,500pt) 10 W - 1 L - 2 D : An IG army is never complete
Dark Angels Chapter (850pt) 2 W - 0 L - 0 D : 7% Complete

If the current cadian models looked more like the old ones, I would definitely go for that cityfight scheme with the grey stripe and red shoulder. That picture looked so sick But since the new models look nothing like that... I'm probably going to end up going for a green/brown forest camo scheme.

Over the years there have literally been countless Paint Schemes in games day/golden demon with conversions featuring this guy, my favorite was when someone added a bugmanns ale mug in his hand and he was drinking while at the same time fending of an Ork

that is exactly how i am painting my "not cadians". in a cityfight CS. EDIT: with some imagination and a bits from other kits and blammo you have virtually the same if not visually similar miniature like in the above picture.

There are some pictures of the first plastic cadians in there from the rogue trader era but the heads have been swapped.

I do like the original necromunda spyders quite a bit, but they are so old and hard to find. And those sculpts... no detail at all

My FLGS has this awesome dense Alien Jungle board (which is pretty awesome, I'll have to take pictures), so I sat at my FLGS and painted all my Guardsmen in a tiger-stripe pattern to match the colors of the board as close as I could for actual camo. I wish I had gotten some boonie heads though, that would have been cool for my vets.

I bring those guys, and my friend brings his 'nids, and we have a good old Bug-Hunt.

Catachan don't mix well with Cadians. The basic Catachan box is fairly exaggerated, even for GW.

I've found this not to be the case if you limit the parts you use. I use a squad of melta vets where the legs, torsos, and heads are catachan and the arms are cadian. It only works with the "vest" catachan torsos and not so well with the "wife-beaters". I think with long sleeves the catachans look a little more vietnam war for sure. The whole sleeveless/bulging muscle catachan thing was cool when it came out in 95' or whatever but is silly now.

With Chaos, Tzeench would probably turn your hands, feet and face into

force you and all your friends to fight to the death using your new

end up in Nurgle's clutches and he uses you as a loofah.

I did the exact same thing with my catachans and my friend's genestealer army. It was really cool, but now I think I want to go for something else
