Cool terrain. A strange ending to the game. It looks like daemons just simply ran out of mojo. Automatically Appended Next Post: Cool terrain. A strange ending to the game. It looks like daemons just simply ran out of mojo.

I thought the Daemons had it in the bag. Unfortunately, I do think the misplayed vector Strikes played a huge role in the outcome. I say you guys replay it and ensure that vector strikes are played correctly. I would wash this game and re-do it.

Actually, they kind of ran out of mojo on turn two when I lost 2 Daemon Princes and the Lord of Change!

After turn two, the most they could hope for was a draw really. Losing 3 FMCs out of 5 really shafted the list. The problem with FMCs is their Vector Strike is only 24", and if they get grounded their' shafted. I got off only two to three vector strikes in the game- it wouldn't have changed the final outcome since the game went to turn 6. If it ended on turn 5, maybe.
Even if you go first, the first vector strike you can get off is in turn 2, and if you're holding back then turn 3. If I didn't lose all my FMCs in the second turn it would have been different, but you REALLY cannot fly around with impunity when there are two skyfire Mortis Contemptors shredding you each turn.

If your tourney allows FW, yes.

Just a quick one. I know the vector strike ignores cover has been confirmed but the bikes would not be getting 2+ anyway. Jink is nit modifiable by stealth/shrouded etc. they are different saves. So you would get 3+ if you had turbo boosted but not the extra cover.

Jink is a cover save. Stealth/Shrouded improve cover saves.

I've always been made to use them as different with my white scars for night fighting and all other bonus etc.
Jink by definition is moving out of the way whereas cover is cover....
Not got brb to hand and hope that I'm wrong as I could be getting a much better save in ruins etc...

Then they are wrong. Stealth/Shrouded does affect Jink, as Jink is a Cover Save.

Tbh the vector strike thing is pretty huge also in a game with this much LOS blocking terrain this very well should have been a game heavily in favor of the FMC list. If he would have just hid from the dreads then it woulda been alot easier. Many games I've seen with competitive FMC lists are about more or less staying out of range/sight of things that can hurt you (24 inch move makes that pretty easy) and then just contesting victory conditions late, denying kill points all game, and picking off units out of position. Playing safer with the heldrake would have also been pretty helpful as it is probably one of the best units vs bike marines.
