Why should there be a "female torso"? These things are huge, bulky exoskeleton type of battlesuits, I really have trouble imagining the shape of the person inside making any difference to the outward presentation of the suit. They aren't exactly skintight.
The same suit with a bare female head would be cool though... The Grymn have a good mix of male/female troops and I think the powered armour should be no exception... but there will always be people who want to see boobs on the front of armour... it is just the way it is.
I was going to make the same point as Agamemnon2 about a "female torso", but he did it much better than I would - assuming the version with the visible head will be being cast, an alternative one with a female head would be cool, though, as you say.

Yeah, but your car has a gascap cover hatch and things like that, just like the "new" plastic 1998 SMs came with the various vent hatches and things, and the new DV models came with all the DA iconography bits. I understand he can't do that becasue people might want them for a variety of things, but they look more like the Warzone models of the 90s than anything else - flat armor paneling everywhere. Maybe it's like exaggerated hands and weapons, we just "expect" to see it and it looks wrong if we don't.

I think that's part of it, though there are people complaining nowadays that a lot of GW models have too much bling on them.

It does not look "Wrong" to me in any way shape or form... The design is cool and slick and the execution from a sculpting standpoint is awesome. Besides not only this looks great but it seems to be a very enjoyable mini to paint.
This can be Grymn powerarmour, robots or in my case 15mm mechs...

I had a small chat with the sculptor (Kev) and he is likely to bring out a female version but with slightly modified armour. She would be a special character but won't be getting boobs on her suit. It is only in the thought stage at the moment so it will probably turn up in a year or so

Interesting, no visable head makes them slightly scale less. They may make interesting 'dreadnought' armour for Tomorrows war in 15mm.
Is there a double powerfist option?

I REALLY like this idea!
What's a good 'counts as' option to represent that?

Space Marines as allies, using "Terminators" from the Grymn power armour range.
Standard SMs could be represented by standard Grymn who are assumed to be wearing an ionic shield system that gives a 3+ armour save.
The only thing is the models are shorter than GW.

Build up bases (not that hard to do) or have a stand in model or two for LoS purposes for your opponent. Most won't have an issue with it. I've found that modeling and building a cohesive army around fluff and painting it well pretty much solves most people's issues with "counts-as" You could always find another range that looks cool and lightly armored to represent the scouts. Maybe even another race? It would fit the Tau fluff.

Or go for a 1st and 10th detachment... Grymn powered armour as Terminators and standard light infantry as scouts.
The Grymn style would suit the Tau as an allied force very well... as has been mentioned.
EDIT - Just for info, there are back-packs in the pipeline for the powered armour so there will be proxy cyclones at some point.

The Grymn range also has light armoured troops who would do for scouts.

And there are some very nice snipers that would really fit the bill... including one in a gillie suit.

Just noticed something today (pretty sure I must have seen it and forgotten...but, alas - here it is again)...
Kevin and Sally will be special guests at ReaperCon (April 18-21). Good chance for anyone in the states to meet the wonderful people behind Hasslefree. I met Kevin several years ago, and Sally a few years back at a convention in the UK (Salute maybe...forget now).
They are great people and the more casual nature of ReaperCon should allow you to corner them and maybe get some tips, hints of future projects and what not more so than you might at one of the larger conventions.

... and that means that for the first time in ages, they won't be at Salute. The Hasslefree stand is still at Salute and will be manned by a group of stand-ins... one of whom will be me
Kev and Sally are going to Reapercon to mingle and chat. They won't be taking miniatures but will have a lap-top filled with images and information. I know for a fact that they are looking forward to meeting lots of people and enjoying the atmosphere there
