Would it work in your local meta?
What have you done, or are planning to do with your
dev squads?
I'm really liking all the advice here. Thank you all. So far, my
Devs remain in their boxes. I really haven't been working on my models recently, but I will crack them open during the summer hopefully. I've only played against Dark Angels, all three games since I only have one person to play with. The old group that used to play went off the face of the earth, so I have no idea how to really build up the
Devs. I'm assuming if I go against power armor, its best to field
PC. It seems to do a good job in the few games I've seen it being used.
And the only reason I got the
Devs instead of Preds, was obviously because they are cheaper ($ wise)
Yeah, no doubt. I actually ordered the Forge World heavy weapons upgrade a while ago and just built my second squad up. $ definitely factors in, and I keep feeling like I need to buy more...dang it all. I really loved the PPPPS
AG SLLLL idea above, but I only own one Plasma Cannon model. I made an extra Lascannon from one of the sponsons from the Stormraven...maybe I should make another one. I could conceivably also make Plasma Cannons from the Stormraven kit. Anyway, yeah, the
WYSIWYG and my ridiculously slow painting always hold me up.
This has all been really informative for me, as I was definitely going the "mix and match" method, which does not make as much sense as the "one-two punch" strategy. The Aegis defense line is something I have seen work. What about putting an extra Bolter-marine in the unit to give it a little more bulk in terms of "wounds"? Anti-infantry tactics are the main thing that's going to hurt Devastator squads--the Fragnought springs immediately to mind, as mentioned.
Anyway, thanks to all!
