Sorry for taking for so long to get back to this thread a lot of stuff happened with work and I just now got back to my hobby.

Well It looks like I know how to paint my next Space Wolves army. lol

@Tyron it only took me 1 day to paint the squad and 1 day to paint the vehicles.

@Million I actually did use Ultramarine blue on the marines... Also didn't GW get rid of Ultramarine blue in the new line??

@stargasm The 10th member of the of the squad is hiding behind the Dreadnought.

I think it looks like they are fighting at night, only lit by explosions and gunfire. In which case, the colouring is perfect

Superb technique, and nicely done.

I think my only complaint is that you painted a blue colored army that isn't... well... blue colored. You've got a grey and cyan thing going on, which certainly suggests bluish, but it also suggests space wolves grey, amongst other things.

Well, I prefer this to some of the bright as can be armies I see people do, b/c it looks more realistic. If you took that bright-behind blue armor most people paint and put it through the type and number of battles that the 40k uni has, then before long, you would be doing good to look like these guys do, with that kinda grungy look...

Best Ultramarines I've ever seen. Love the choice of colors and the airbrush work is fantastic.

For some reason the sea green highlights on the razorback really do it for me. Well done.

It's an actual artist's color, not just a name used by GW. I'd imagine, in fact, that they were painted blue because their name is a shade of blue.

The unit looks very striking, but the "highlights" are off. It's especially apparent on the Dread where you've got the shade color on the top surface immediately adjacent to the highlight color. It looks like you were going for a zenithal effect but the "light source" was completely different for each part/area of the model.

@Helotaxi I actually didn't know that about ultramarine blue. After reading this I actually googled it and read up on it. Thank you for making that clear to me and it was an interesting read on wiki.

The Unit is Zenithal effect and the dread is not Zenith. I wanted to try a different effect on the dread so I just winged it while i painted it. Looking back at it now I do so my mistakes I made with the lighting.

Thank you very much for everyone that says they like the marines. I honestly hated Ultramarines before I painted these guys... now I'm working on an entire army.
