My point is one of aesthetic. Not practicality. The two don't even mix that well. This seems to be a recurring fallacy---Explanation in the fluff does not impact its look in any way. The chainswords do not look as eldar-y as the rest of it, and if you say otherwise I contend you're just used to them at this point. And re-evaluating something again and again only serves to normalize it further. This still doesn't change the fact that the Striking Scorpions COINCIDENTALLY look like like they're using chainsaws just like the Imperium.

I don't think there would be too many problems with blurring between eldar/d eldar. Look at High/ Dark elves in fantasy, still both "elfy" styles but still recognisably different.

I agree that chainswords look out of place on Eldar, is it really that hard for a curvy graceful race to have curvy graceful weapons?
