For synergy with CSM the Chaos Demons are perfect. Codex CSM has a serious deficit of means to move troops quickly to the opponents deployment zone. In hammer and anvil missions, loyalists have drop pods, storm ravens, land speeder storms etc. Many ways to get troops into your deployment zone. CSM has only land raider and rhinos and in this infantry heavy edition of 40k both of these can prove lacking.

Demons are a great way to drop 40 troops in your foes deployment zone along with a beat stick Hq. You can keep the pressure on in his DZ and force him to pay less attention to your end of the board.

I play death gaurd, and lately i have been fielding a big mob of plague bearers with a herald on a palenquine, as well as a soul grinder (another super awesome addition from the demons list , tough deep striking av 13 walker = awesome). 20 plague bearer properly kitted out with lesser reward etc means that you should have 2 ap 2 weapons to help shred enemy MEQ and TEQ. they are tough and force your foe to dedicate some serious work to dislodge from their lines.

Pestilence Provides.
