If you are going to run a biker lord may as well give him a burning brand so he can really wreck face.

I think I've settled on something that looks like the following:

Huron
accompanied by 3 Oblits with MON

Lord with MOS, MurderSword, Aura, Steed, VotLW
accompanied by 3 Spawn

10 Noise Marines, 2 BM, 7 Sonic Blaster, Icon
10 Noise Marines, 2 BM, 7 Sonic Blaster, Icon

5 Havocs, 4 AC
5 Havocs, 4 LC

Herald of Slaanesh, Greater Etherblade, Exalted Locus
accompanied by 20 Daemonettes

10 Daemonettes.

1850 total.

Huron sticks with the Oblits to give them Fearless for free. The Spawn open up a lot of options for me, since I can either use them as a Lord delivery system, or to eat overwatch shots and tarpit for Daemonettes (when I have to use them for interceptor duties, rather than counter charge). Daemonettes themselves will essentially be treated as a giant 30strong unit when appropriate, or, when I don't need quite that much killing power, I can hold the smaller unit back and just let them camp an objective.

Everything else pretty much does what it says on the tin.

I opted against Seekers because it would cost me more ££ than I want to spend on finishing the list, and if I was going to run them I wouldn't want to run anything smaller than a 15man unit (since they only start putting out more attacks than a max daemonette unit at that point).

Overall I think it's pretty solid?

you are not using the burning brand anywhere in your list. Cut back a bit on the sonic blasters to give you some wound catching bolter bods and put it on your lord. Call it a special Doom Siren. It is too good to be left at home.

I am curious that you put MoN on your oblits, but want to keep your spawn naked. T6 spawn are much much better than T5 spawn.

I can't put a MOS Lord into a unit of MON Spawn, otherwise they'd absolutely have been marked up.

As far as the burning brand goes, I can't say I'm particularly sold on trading a 48" AP3 template for a much shorter ranged flamer template. While the brand has advantages in that it'll never scatter, it's also not going to be firing every turn if it's on a choppy Lord or out of range. The other aspect of the decision is that the whole point of the list is to finally get some use out of the sonic weapons that I've been sitting on for years. Sure, I could start butchering noise marine squads for various reasons, but once I start doing that, I might as well just dump the lot and build the stereotypical flavour of the month CSM list . I've already cut the noise marines down from previous incarnations of the list (a much earlier version had 3 squads with the loadout listed above, and a later version cut that to 2 slightly bigger squads with some ablative wounds), so I'm simply not prepared to cut them down any further I'm afraid.

The only other place I could reasonably find 30 points would be if I dropped one of the spawn, but I feel that a 3man unit is pretty risky even as things are, so it doesn't seem like a wise place to cut points.

sorry meant sonic blasters, not blastmasters

then I would cut the oblits down to 2, add in burning brand, and take a cheap unit of cultists to hold a home objective

You can only run 1 herald as allies unfortunately. That being said if you really want to maximize your output put the herald in a seeker squad. You then have 80 rending reroll to hit attacks that can outflank with acute senses or deepstrike. My favorite tactic against gunlines is to outflank my heralds with thier 12 inch move then deepstrike my daemonettes onto the seekers icon. Sure they will get shot a lot but they also have to worry about spawn and ap 3 mini pies wrecking their day.

You can get up to four Heralds for one HQ pick.

Have you considered chaos spawn? They are really cheap and efficient for their points. And they are very hard to kill (plus they are fearless), and they move fast too (12 inches).

If you want them to be killy, put a powerful lord like a Khorne Juggerlord or a biomany buffed biker sorceror with them.
