Broodlord, Hive Tyrant and Tervigon are the only ones I count.

All special characters are characters, and the Trygon Prime was FAQed to add (ch).

Edit: also ICs are characters (so Iranna was correct)

Incorrect with 'most of the other big beasties' though, unless we've changed 'most' to mean 'half'.

I would disagree that they could "comfortably" destroy any AV13 vehicle.

A full brood of 3 will give 3 hits, which should deal 1 glance/pen.

Even with a pen and likely +1 modifier, the odds of you getting an Explodes! result aren't amazing.

I agree with the sentiment that Hive Guard are the best choice the Tyranids have in this match-up, but would argue that it's "the best of a bad situation".

MSS -- They Go at the Beginning of Assault, same as challenges, so the Player that charges ( most likely the 'Nid player ) You choose the order in which these events happen. Swarmlord Charges a unit ( and hopefully smart enough to position so you don't come into B2B with the MSS Lord ). Choose order. MSS goes off -> issue Challenge. MSS has nothing to target, it is now wasted, if the lord chooses to accept challange, pummel into the ground.

You Can Also just Assualt the unit with no Characters since most Nid units don't have a character in them, minus Stealers. Also good positioning can just have termagants swarm the MSS user so that you only lose a massive 1 attack, and have a Trygon ( not prime ) sweep on the side, since it is not a character, you can't challenge him.

I can't remember the page number, but IIRC it's the page before the full colour gallery section. It's titled 'Tyranid Psychic Powers' and has them broken down into Hive Tyrant, Broodlord and Tervigon (and I think Zoanthrope) powers.

There's nothing that says in the codex or rulebook what rulebook powers they can swap for, but the psychic power card deck had a card that says (and I'm pretty sure the BRB FAQ states as well) they can swap their powers for Biomancy, Telekinesis and Telepathy powers. You need to swap every power on the model, but you can mix up which tables you use (eg a Zoanthrope can keep its stock powers or replace them with 2 rolls for rulebook powers, either both from one table or each roll from different tables).
