Barrage Sniping = Win

You'll laugh all the way to the Bank of Khorne with the blood you can deposit from those pesky Harlequins and Stealth/Shrouded dependant deathstars

And because its ordnance barrage, pin check with -1 leadership. Its always awesome when you get a bonus turn of shooting at a non-fearless deathstar.

For the price, it's a good investment in an all comer's list. It can perform reasonably well against non Power Armored armies.

It performs even okay against power armor as well. It's still STR 5. Your opponent won't usually have perfect displacement, especially if you just popped a transport.

Whirlwinds are extremely worth it, especially when you can't take Thunderfire Cannons.

Wound allocation from Barrage blasts go from the center and go outward instead of following normal allocation for shooting. Therefore, you can center the blast over a certain model you want dead (like that Icon of Vengeance) and if it's a direct hit, the wounds start from him.

Space Wolves: 3770
Orks: 3000
Chaos Daemons: 1750
Warriors of Chaos: 2000

Also, remember to not use whirlwinds like you would a basilisk, much like how you don't use a predator like you would a leman russ. A whirlwind is purely an infantry killer and you can't take massive batteries of them to shatter their sky. But they are very cheap and many people will underestimate them, and ignore them to their detriment, unlike the big IG artillery which most players will try to kill ASAP.

Think of a daemon incursion like a fart you don't quite trust... you could either toot a little puff of air, bellow a great effluvium, or utterly sh*t your pants and cry as it floods down your leg.
