You use an altered definition of the term because you're trying to demonize and belittle a political and civil rights movement so that you can feel better about yourself, like almost everyone else in this thread.

That is precisely what I said! Almost word for word! Except that I didn't use all caps, I didn't say that I was offended by their cause (Just disagreed with it), and I wouldn't necessarily say my first post in this thread was a rant.
But I guess technically you're right that I have felt some sort of offense in my life because I've smelled gak (And didn't like it!).

I don't think the FCC currently has the power to regulate the internet's content all that much (and such a ting may well be a pipe dream).
Child porn is illegal across the western world, but there are hundreds of thousands of backwater sites dedicated to it. Whenever a law enforcement agency takes one down a new one just pops up. Same with pirating sites. Without a fundamental alteration to the structure of the web, expecting heavy regulation of it isn't really gonna happen.
Facebook though I have a really hard time buying is okay with images of rape. There's probably a mountain of immature 'college humor' style stuff on there though making jokes about it. I'm not sure though I'd support facebook playing big brother on that subject. There's a lot of offensive stuff in the world and people don't necessarily lose their right to be a dick just because we don't approve of it. But Facebook is a private company. They can do what they want with their site. Personally I expect little to be done.

No, but you were offended. What other than the offense you took motivates you to attack the feminist movement in this thread? So apparently, it's not okay for people to take offense at someone advocating sexualized violence against them... but it IS okay for you to take offense at someone attempting to say "that's not cool and you should take that down". Or rather, you're using the term "offense" without really knowing (or just not caring) what it means, so that you can insult the feminist movement and make yourself feel better about your own life. Same goes with so many other people in this thread. But seriously, of all the things to be offended about, you're offended that feminism opposes people who advocate rape? You're being entirely irrational here.

http://www.dailylife.com.au/news-and-views/dl-opinion/hey-facebook-rape-is-not-a-punchline-20130527-2n6tx.html There's an absurd irony in the fact that Facebook seems to take a zero tolerance policy to the uploading of breastfeeding photos (many users have been reported and even temporarily banned for sharing images of them feeding their babies), yet it took weeks and a Change.org petition with more than 100,000 signatures to get Facebook to remove a "humour" page called "What's 10 inches and gets girls to have sex with me? There was a point where the British government asked them to take down a rather offensive and infamous page on Facebook. They declined to despite the fact it was breaking several of the terms and conditions.

Special pleading! I knew it would be along sooner or later.
I don't suppose it's possible that some people not agree with what you determine to be derogatory. Referring, of course, to Page 3, not the facebook trolling bit. That is ugly, but it seems like Facebook has the machinery in place to remove objectionable content. I've seen it in action. It would seem that, surprise, a lot of people are shooting off at the mouth without even a rudimentary understanding of the subject matter.
