I think the pledges came pouring in after it reached its $100K funding goal. A lot of people were probably waiting to see if it funded before jumping in. Of course this is kinda dumb; if everyone had that mentality then nothing would be funded.

Oh wow, I didn't even notice that the original goal was 100k! As I came in on this late.
Still, kickstarter is fascinating as far as observing crowd behavior... and in particular, anonymous crowd behavior where monetary commitment is involved.

There was a good number of people unhappy with the initial $100K goal. But that was how much it would take to produce the game at the quality Cody wanted. Since Cody is just one guy (not a game company with cash reserves) he couldn't risk his family's well being if he set a lower goal and didn't reach what he really needed. I highly respect his decision.

Agreed, everything about this campaign has impressed me! The reason I posted the graphs on page 1 was because I find it so interesting that it could start that slowly (without months of pre- KS "hype" like we've seen in other campaigns) but pick up that much speed during the campaign itself, enough to almost assuredly clear 300K. As I said, very impressive!
Edit: And it's over 300K! With 29 hours to go

Less than 15 hours to go. Ivorycore card stock has been unlocked. It was hinted that not all the unlocked KS items will be in the retail base game; they may be sold as expansions.

Well, I was hoping for a final update but I'm not sure if he will be putting one in until it closes... he'd said he might be, but I believe he's actually at a reunion today and so hasn't responded since posting a comment about putting in a 12-hour update (and we're close to 10 hours to go now).
Not really needed anyway, I was just hoping to see it since it could give it a final upward nudge and give folks an indication of direction for art on the cards, etc.

That's one of the downsides of Kickstarting a project from a single guy with a full-time job vs a company.
