Now, I do rarely play 40k anymore, but this is pretty damn cool and amazing!

I am intrigued to see where this goes.

Definitely neat! I especially like the eyelessness of the hive guard, very lovecrafty, even if built-in

Behold the complete piece!

This has been a really eye opening experience, i have always pushed myself to new limits with painting, but with this single model i tried so many new techniques and color combinations. I am happy with the final product and now that i know exactly how i want to do them the other two should come along a whole lot faster.

The gun i tried this technique i saw on Mini War Gaming on how to paint black and man do i love the effect, even with a little of my own touch in it.

Quite nice! Well worth the wait. Kudos on pushing your boundaries, made myself paint white on something, may have to go back to my safe place and let better painters like you handle the tricky stuff

@Grim just get a really nice base in order to make it a little easier.

Yeah, i figured it out-ish. I just don't like doing it. Too much effort with only moderate pay-off on the models in question. I usually paint models for games, and the amount of work you put in to make that hive guard look so cool is beyond my patience Very much looking forward to seeing more though. It's a great scheme, need to see how your tentacled beasties turn out!

Looks amazing mate. I love what you have done with this model, modelling as well as painting. I like the black painting effect, can I ask what paints you used?
