Truly awesome.
Love the paint scheme as well. What colours did you use?

Thanks. Base color is adeptus battle grey over black primer. Highlighted with a mix of abg and white.
For the weathering i used a sponge, first chaos black followed by boltgun metal.
The yellow is scorched brown followed by layers of yellow mixed with brown using less brown in the mix until you get the yellow you want.
Weathered just like the grey except that i used a little bit of brown in the black.
Metal parts are boltgun metal washed with badab black and abit of a brown wash here and there.

Holy crap that's nice! I love the hard sci-fi looke it has going one, and that and its execution color scheme is excellent as well.

Really like this buddy! I've been considering doing something like this for a while...you've inspired me to get on with it! It looks great.
Personally, i'd have the legs shorter and stubbier...just seems more space marine. They are a stocky bunch.
But it still looks seriously good! Well done.

Very, very, nice. As others have said, it really reminds me of Battletech/Mechwarrior with the aesthetic and the faded grey paint scheme. I also like the detail to the missile tips.

I just completed my assembly on my own version of this conversion. It has become a very expensive labor of love.

I wanted to ask what you did on the assembly of the hip to the fuselage. did you go with the use of plastic tubing as was done on the spikey bits website @ http://blog.spikeybits.com/2012/06/how-to-stormtalon-assault-walker.html or did you try something different.

I opted for placing magnets in the base of the fuselage and upper section of the hips I think it holds better than the plastic pipes as they looked very wobbly in the video on You tube @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vDnFPBGjOw.

I'm also going with the Twin Linked Las-Cannon instead of the Heavy Bolter option.

When I get done with the painting I'll post some pictures, right now it is just primed black.

I am working on a Wolf Pelt that will be hung under the fuselage and possibly run it as a 13th Company Mini-Stormwolf Titan for Apocalypse events where the 13th would show up out of a Black Gate only to disappear after saving an Imperial unit from falling out of the frying pan.

I think the model lends itself to the theme of the 13th Company as something Tech-Priests and Long Fangs of the 13th assembled to carry on the fight when they found the equipment left on a battlefield as they bounce from planet to planet always searching for a way back to Fenris as they cleanse the universe of Chaos.

After-all you need legs from a Chaos Defiler to build it.

Fenris forever.

Awesome

Heres a pucture of what i did. I used plastic tubing to connect the hip joints to the hip and used 4 magnets to hold the fuselage.

Its kinda hard to see them but if the whole thing is not perfectly balanced its really wobbly.
I placed the magnets in a circular pattern so i could still turn it

This is kind of a dream come true, I am so giving it a try! I used to be a total geek for Battletech back when MW4 was new and it still holds a special place in my heart...

Seeing how much buying all the kits (brand new) needed to build it was expansive, it kind of discouraged me but, fortunately, bits can be bought separately (thank you internets!) and the build cost is acceptable for a dream-project.

I have no idea where to get magnets though xD where did you buy yours and what sizes did you use? And then I'd throw similar questions for the pinning used on its "knees"...

But hey! Thank you so much for opening the way to this absolutely epic (more so than most GW or FW models, imho) conversion/kitbash/model. And if they do release a SM monstrous creature soon, at least I'll have the badassest, prettiest, most beautiful model around. (And maybe I'm just being delusional with tiredness here <.<; sorry)

thanks ^_^ im really glad when people like and appreciate my works and while it was a challenging project its so worth the result and you should go for it.

getting all the parts on ebay(or different bitz sites) makes it way cheaper than buying all the kits and even if you buy the kits you can still sell the parts you dont need.

i bought the magnets on ebay as well and if i remember correctly they are 1mm or 1,5 mm. i have a drill thats exactly the same size so its pretty easy to drill a hole and glue them in.

OOHHhh the awesomeness is blinding ! Such a cool and well executed idea. Adding some kind of hands in my mind would create a really cool dreadknight so I really have to give it a try. Only problem I see with this is the cost in the case you cannot fetch the individual parts. A dreadknight, a defiler and a stormtalon for butchering = lots of money. Besides that OOHhhh the awesomeness !!

Got milk?

All I can say about painting is that VMC tastes much better than VMA... especially black...
