Congrats, Dakka.

For someone who isn't as steeped in the community as he used to be, this is absolutely the best site the visit to keep up with new releases and general hobby developments. I mean, Warseer doesn't even allow pics of new models before they go on preorder at this point and anything non-GW gets moved to some ghetto forum at the bottom of the site.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

It would be interesting to see how The Miniatures Page is doing. They are probably the largest general wargaming site and have a lot more historicals and so on.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Glad to see Dakka is continuing to do well. We've certainly come a long way since the old days. It bodes well for the wargaming community in general, I think.

Quite an eye-opener when you look at it.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Great to see the community growth.

I hope to see some area game matching available by city / proximity.
Make an opt-in function available for members to find others to game with as hinted at.

40k is big, I am heavily invested in it but the writing is on the wall they may downsize a bit due to recent policies.

So keep other gaming system forums well supported. I see Robotech Tactics as a possible big game for next year.

Good job all!!

I had to ask my wife to confirm that the crazy upward line that seemed to be eating Warseer was indeed DakkaDakka.

Thanks for the info Lego. I gradually moved over to DakkaDakka as my go-to site over the past couple of years. The quality of the site really started to suck me in, and the more time I spent on Dakka, the more I appreciated the differences between Dakka and other wargaming forums. This is a fantastic site with consistent, fair moderation and comparatively healthy discourse. It is a substantial boon to the community and I am glad that all of your hard work has been paying off so well.

Neat!

I've been vaguely curious about this kind of information and it's nice to see it graphed out.

It's also interesting to have some amount of quantifiability for my hunches, like how it feels like warseer has fallen off a cliff, and that dakka was expanding big at the end of 5th ed, while posting in forums, in general, seems to have leveled off.

Probably not going to update that one - I would have to rewrite and recalculate quite a few things by hand and dont have time in the near future.

As for colour blindness on the graph - sorry The default colours of libreoffice leave a lot to be desired! At least dakka itself is fairly colourblind friendly.

My eyes hate that graph right now. :(:(:( Is there any way for the big notable sites like Dakka, Warseer, Heresy Online, etc. to be labelled at least, so we can see the trends that you are referring to?

In any case, yay Dakka!

Nice to see that Dakka is on the up and up with more converts to the Dakkite regardless of other forum's misgivings towards our site's magnificence and diligence towards Imperial-style justice as our mods like Majortom have demonstrated in the fight towards devious scammers like Mandelbaum who pose threats to communities such as ours.

Numbers don't lie people, kind of makes certain hate threads made by disgruntled former Dakka members all the more delicious seeing how their complaints and poisonous spite to keep others away from here fail miserably before the funky power of mobile reading pooping Dakkites like us.
