from what I remember, it's really quite bad. Most of the scenery hits "well I might just add another ten or twenty percent and get full-on superdetailed resin buildings" territory from what I recall... Not their fault though, mailing this stuff just is expensive.

It's really about time some of the MDF kits producers from different continents get together and start cutting/selling each others' kits - this stuff is all either 3mm or 5mm board and most lasers should be able to handle any of those kits with ease. I don't think there's many of them using exceptionally large boards (that could be an issue, with cutting space limitations on specific cutters) either so basically I'll just wait for the first outfits that wise up and collaborate like that to buy about a table full of stuff

I remember it being horrifying when I was looking at their tiles, haven't looked lately though.
Their near future stuff is some of the best I've seen, and that's not even with a "for MDF" qualifier.

Well, just to see, I threw some stuff I would want into a shopping cart:
2.93kg, about $200, plus another $40 for DHL shipping to the US. The same order in GBP came to £18.83 shipping to the UK. Huh, that's cheaper than to the US.

Cutting stuff up and bunging it back together in new and interesting ways.

Under the couch

Yeah, I'm actually a little surprised by that. The last 2kg parcel I shipped overseas cost me around AU$75.

I can't help but think there has to be something lighter than MDF that could be used for this sort of stuff. Foam core would possibly work, but wouldn't look as good for the finished product. There would no doubt be all sorts of plastic sheeting that would be lighter, but probably more expensive than MDF...

When will the new truck and forklifts be available? I think I may have to order those.

Your vehicles are amazing. Love what I see. Actually all of your work looks really good.

Loving the forklifts, I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, see if you can sort something out for UK distribution. Your stuff is some of the best I've seen, I couldn't believe that truck was mdf at first.

Outstanding stuff!

Is there any chance of an enclosed cab for the truck?

If I'm wishlisting... wind turbines (I know you weren't planning on doing more 'game themed' terrain, but these would be awesome!)

Re: postage.

how about discounted postage over x amount? does that appeal as a concept?

easiest method would be to cut some card shapes and simply glue them on. The trouble with trying to enclose the cab with MDF is you end up with a lot of unavoidable ugly spaces and gaps, which is why I went with the open frame look.

Very nice stuff! I like the rest of the sci fi line as well... Any chance of some more buildings to go with Central Processing and the Admin Block? A couple more buildings and I'd be looking at a possible order to build a city table.

Not usually a fan of MDF stuff, but this looks pretty good.

Presuming weight is what's boosting the international postage costs, there's probably not much the manufacturer can do, they're at the mercy of their country's post office rates :(

Absolutely, some companies do free shipping on orders over X or Half price shipping on all orders to Y country , that sort of thing. At this point unless UK and USA distribution can be had that's the best option we have. let us know how that shakes out.

Okay, Just spoken with the boss. He's keen, but need to crunch numbers and stuff. Assuming that works out, we need to have our interwebs person work out how to implement it.

That sounds like a good start.

I often buy small kits from companies like CNC to sample the kits quality before backing this up with a full order. Anyway of addressing this would be ideal, though if your proposed solution was at the right limit this might not be a problem.

Thanks Mouse, this is just the sort of thing that shows the company is willing to at least look at helping people get their product, which is great.

Notprop- everyone has to be their own judge, but I can tell you I own several different kits from CNC. The troop landers, the workstation combo ( which I use daily and have for quite a while now I love it ) I also own 9 of the sand buildings and have "built" and painted the city and urban combo back for a friend. This stuff is sturdy, well designed and looks great on the table. Which Is why I am so keen to get hold of more. That's my little plug for them Hope it helps

Absolutely. When I'm buying from overseas, whether it's FW, or you guys, or what have you, I save up to do larger orders. I've already got a buttload of your city tiles, and bunkers, and landers, so I know and am confident of the quality enough to buy in larger quantities.

That could get me to both buy something and buy a lot at once just to get the cheaper postage, and I suspect there would be more buyers like that

I read the instructions for the blimp, and I have to say that I think they are the standard to which all model kit makers should aspire to. Clear, good pictures, tells you what to paint and when, warns of potential problems - splendid.

Very slick. I have to agree this is CNC and Laser cutting pushed to an excellent extreme. By far some of the nicest kits I've seen. It's all about wrapping your brain around the layers and how they'll stack up and link together. Take the time to work it out and great thing can happen.

What I wouldn't give to get my hands on this kind of equipment. The things I could do!
