Why are there more Asian-themed models of ogres and orcs in wargaming than actual Asian models?

Because the public has spoken and demanded that all fantasy asian miniatures be vaguely racist caricatures.

On the other hand Defiance games has demonstrated that the demand for near future asians focuses more on the "Mickey Rooney in yellowface with body armour" niche.

Isn't Mickey Rooney a descendant of Jenghis Khan?

Seriously, when are Fireforge's plastic Mongolians coming out?

Oh, and back on topic, the chaos dwarfs still look good.

They look pretty sweet, but I'm still a bigger fan of the CC evil dwarfs.

So, you may be interested in what is going on at the backstage, how our miniatures are made, are you? The models are entirely designed and made by us, we don't rely on third party works. We make specific parts and then duplicates them so they can be a base for sculpting details (this facilitates our work if we're intent on executing similar parts differing only in decorations). Our weapons don't have anything in common with popular wargaming systems, unless you want to use them in such a way. For example, our inspiration while designing weapons for Sons of Adramelech were shotguns, but to a small extent. We assumed these should in general look like early industrial arms to fit to such line of models. The same is with legs - and no, because some were asking, we don't use 3d design, just classic sculpting techniques.

May I suggest that these aren't very many modifications (perhaps a more "lasers" gun and some slightly less chaotic heads) from being a very good option for anyone to use their favourite race of extinct dwarves in games of 40K.
