I like the Star Wars one to live in. Not so much for any of the cool aspects, but because it's the one you're likely to survive the longest in.

Unless you pick the Culture, in which case your hedonistic tech-utopia lasts until you voluntarily decide you've had enough centuries of fun and allow yourself to die. Star Wars has nothing compared to universes where literal immortality is the default state.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Sorry, but when the question is "would you like to live in a literal utopia (which has perfectly realistic simulations that can duplicate any other world you might like to visit) or somewhere that isn't a literal utopia" there is only one correct answer.

No, there isn't. Simply put, I would want to struggle. I would want it to be real and meaningful. I want risks, real risks.

This Culture sounds disgusting to me. It's like eating pure sugar.

This. I want a charizard.

The mass effect universe seems like a pretty interesting place to live, even as an average Joe. Except the reaper part, but nobody said at what time i have to live within that universe.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

North of your position

Living in Sheogorath's realm fron the Elder Scrolls series would be sweet. Well, only if you're him, ofcourse.

Harry Potter, if I had magical blood. I mean, when you're 17, you can do whatever you want, right? So you could Apparate to the Victoria Secret Fashion Show, or the SI Swimsuit calendar shoots, or whatever, and hoodwink some extremely good-looking ladies into doing ... stuff.
And invisibility cloaks FTW. Oh yes.

As Mary Sue as it is, the Honorverse would be an interesting place to be

This is actually the first thing that sprung into my mind. It seems like the nicest universe that I've ever personally read about. Pretty good balance between "nice tech that actually works" and "life still means enough for it to be worth living".

Like watching other people play video games (badly) while blathering about nothing in particular? Check out my Youtube channel: joemamaUSA!

I never understood how the parallels between Pokémon and cockfighting, dogfighting, etc were lost on everyone. That's a cruel, terrible world you want to live in where bred animal fighting is the biggest sport.

I'm not suggesting that I necessarily disagree with your choice, but there is the argument that a life without end or want or purpose is meaningless hedonism, perhaps even being akin to oblivion and lacking consciousness. In other words, at its most base level you can pretty much replicate the effect by OD'ing on morphine, insofar as your own personal awareness is concerned.

Without struggle, there is no triumph.

As a second possible refutation, you assume that everyone thinks like you. Some of the most magnificent things that make our experiences worth experiencing are stemmed from tragedies that you desire to leavel behind in your utopia, thus rendering your utopia not necessarily a utopia at all, but rather something perfectly bland.

This is not even to speak yet of the concept that strife and turmoil are appealing to many people. (I loathe quoting this...) "Some men like the fishing / some men like the fighting / some men like to hear / to hear the cannonballs roaring / me, I like sleeping"
