The Molten Lava stretch goal has been reached!

A total of 67 out of 145 backers participated in the vote.

Final Vote Tally For Round 1

Red Brickwork 21
Arctic Glacier 17
Slimy Swamp 8
Sandstone 5
City Block 3
Deep Jungle 3
Rich Earth 3
Mountain Lake 2
Cinder Soot 1
Evergreen 1
Golden Sands 1
Pacific Ocean 1
Well Water 1
Atlantic Sea 0
Leafy Green 0

Red Brickwork is the winner and I'll be releasing it with the "red" version instead of the "brown" unless everyone actually wants the brown version as well. I can certainly offer both if there is demand for it.

Due to the popularity of the Red Brickwork and Arctic Glacier color schemes...

BOTH WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE $7,000 STRETCH GOAL!!!

That's right! At the $7,000 stretch goal, I will make Red Brickwork and Arctic Glacier available to pledge on!

Tonight, I'll be working on the new voting list for the $8,000 stretch goal.

ALSO!!! I am excited to be able give away my 1st freebie!

Back any of the 4 packs...

Stoned Quatro
Gothic Stone Dungeon Special
Ton Of Lumber
Great Pyramid Catacomb
The Field Stone Dungeon Special
Mount Doom Vacation Package
Four Stones And A Shirt

...and get a free F-1622 #4 Wooster Brush with your pledge! The stiff white bristles make it perfect for base coat application and stippling effect. This is a high quality brush that is made in America and regularly goes for $3 or more. Wooster Brush was founded in 1851 and has 162 years of experience in making a darn good brush. These are the brushes I use and I feel confident in providing them to you.

We're in our final week of the Kickstarter. Tell everyone you know, post to all of your favorite forums, mention the project on your Facebook page and maybe we can unlock more stretch goals smile.gif

I have made a 4 pack of the Aged Wood (Ton Of Lumber) and a 4 pack for the Molten Lava (Mount Doom Vacation Package) kits as new backer levels that you can choose from.

Thank you AGAIN to everyone that has contributed to making this product a reality

Things I like: really cost effective paints, the tier descriptions have a hilarious 'wine tasting description' quality to them, and the examples look great. The arctic and molten lava are particularly appealing.

Unfortunately, $22 to ship up here to Canada puts a bit of a damper on my ability to join in. Yes, yes, I'm aware it's not cheap to ship outside the US, and that costs were bumped up to send things to "America's hat" earlier this year. Doesn't change the fact that an $18 pledge becoming a $40 pledge is a bit more out of the gaming budget than I can really justify.

But seriously, as someone who has backed 15 Kickstarters so far, I've got to say that the level of professionalism and polish on display is fantastic. Good job and keep up the amazing work! I've set KS to remind me when you're coming down to the final days, see how my resolve holds next week.

This is a great looking product, and one of the better designed Kickstarter pages I've seen.

My only quibble: it's suprisingly difficult to buy one of everything as a bundle!

it's kind of funny.. my original test audience and test painters said it was TOO red, so i dialed it back to a red so dark it's kind of brown. now the KS crowd say that it's too brown and want the original red

so i'm going to be casting more brick pieces today and painting them up tonight if they're dry enough. i'll have revised pictures with the classic red brick paint scheme soon

yeah, kickstarter is not meant to be a shopping cart.

Itar's Workshop was nice enough to modify his pledge calculator for me.

thank you very much! i went with the flavorful descriptions to try and convey an image of what they look like in person. saying it's a brown base with an orange build-up and a white highlight, don't really do the colors justice

i honestly wish there was a more realistic way to do shipping costs. it's ridiculous how much they want for shipping to canada when both countries are supposed to be involved in a free trade agreement.

Yeah. Especially since the exchange used to be around 1.6 to 1 and now we generally hover around parity. A lot of things finally caught up to that, and along with other requirements, regulations and flat out gouging, I empathize with the situation it puts you guys in.

Obviously the campaign is already a success, and that's the important thing!

Thanks!

Let me re-phrase my comment, though. I'm a compulsive paint collector. I love them, and when I see a bundle or complete set, I'm likely to buy it. Present me 10 different sets, and I'm more likely to pick and choose what I feel I'll actually need.

Now, Maybe I'm the only one, but right now, i'm looking to pick maybe 4-5 sets. If you put everything currently funded in a pledge level with a slight discount, I'd probably just pledge that amount.

either way I'm happy, and I certainly don't expect you to cater to my crazy, just explaining it!

"This has led me to work on a formula specifically for miniatures with many of the qualities of the terrain paint. I’m not quite ready to release it yet, but I’m very close and it just needs a little more fine tuning before I’m happy with it and I get that Kickstarter going. But keep an eye out because it will be coming very, very soon and the current test piece results are extremely promising. I’m particularly excited about the metallics I’ve come up with. I am a little hesitant to release them though. They do not work like other metallics where you just slather on the color and you’re done. The PaintWorks metallics make use of an under coat to make that metallic color shine really pop out. The effects are gorgeous, but I’m not sure how well the painting community will take to using an extra step to achieve what I think is a great effect that you can’t get with a single paint. The metallics do however, work exceptionally well for dry brushing and the after effect you get with something like rusted copper, the end result is just perfect."

PICTURES! WANT PICTURES!

Seriously, how many miniature painters (who want good results!) *don't* use an undercoat for their metallics??

Back at the "Paint the World" level! That's exactly what I wanted.

Can't wait to get these. My buddies and I are stockpiling terrain for our clubhouse.

Very nice Klingbeil, do you have a website from which you will base this enterprise from after the kickstarter campaign ends? I may have to pick up one or two when I buy some good terrain to replace my bad homebrew cardboard buildings and terrain.

And heck you can't even get your own jollies off without Slaanesh giggling and farting out some daemons. And if you manage to avoid all that, some genestealers might infiltrate your planet and bring a hive fleet crashing down on you any way.

more pictures are coming soon

i did a sci-fi piece to show off the metallics and let me tell you... getting the colors to show up correctly when there's some metallic reflection really throws off the camera. i must have taken over 50 shots of the piece from different angles, different lighting, flash on, flash off, backlighting, more ambient light, etc etc etc. i eventually had to borrow a camera and i got a little closer in getting a good picture.

the colors are pretty close to the real thing, but picture still doesn't do it justice.

the whole piece is based with the Gothic Stone kit and dry brushed with the metallic iron. the pipes and floor grates were stippled with the Rusted Iron build-up color, then lightly stippled with the Rusted Iron highlight color. the "vents" were stippled with the Weathered Copper base, then lightly stippled with the Weathered Copper build-up, and then dry brushed with the metallic copper. the monitor was dabbed with some Arctice Glacier base and build-up. afterwards, everything was hit with the black wash to mute the bright colors and give it a really grimy look. the tiles are all 1" square to give you a sense of scale.

I do have a website and it's currently under reconstruction to include a MUCH better interface, a real online store, a direct interface with UPS, FedEx, and USPS to give you the best choice for shipping to your area, and support for Paypal, Google Checkout, and Amazon Payments.

I will be continuing the PaintWorks line with everything found on the KS and new ones currently in development, as well as venturing into miniature paints in the first part of next year

Pledge managery thingy on your KS came back with 404 error.

I backed it for $56 but need to select which paints I want. I presume the pledge managery thingy is the way to do that?

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

i'm told "soon"...
Itar's ISP has been up and down for the last week as they fix whatever line AT&T had going to his house. Itar has also been in the process of moving to a more reliable web host as well. It's just bad timing right now I guess.

Here's what Itar just wrote to me:
"the new host doesn't want to let me import the data from the old host. I'm having to do it one table at a time"

Believe me when I say that I would have loved to get everyone's pledges sorted out last week. I'm ready to get this thing going and out the door so I can get it up on my new website (still coming "soon") and move on to my next project.

As for the new website, my web dev guy had a death in his immediate family so I told him to take off all the time he needs. He says he's still working on it, but I can tell he's not at 100% right now.

LOL it's funny you should say that. he was super excited to be painting and when i told him he could keep it, he was ecstatic. but the moment i went to take his picture, he went completely "deer in the headlights" and his mom said he does that every time he gets his picture taken
