I think that general location is more important than age in regards to where folks game.
I am 50+ from New England (Maine) and game at home, but have gamed at stores.
Most of my preferred gaming is
RPGs.
I have gamed at a university club in the nineties, and at a club in an Armory in the oughts.
I run an
RPG game at a dry bar for recovering alcoholics. (I have never been an alcoholic - my drinking is in the range of one or two six packs in a year. I am there because I
GM, and because my da was an alcoholic.) The game happens every other week.
I have run games at a pagan retreat. (I am not a pagan, I am a wandering U/U*. I am there because I
GM...

) The game happens three days out of a year.
I have run games at fast food restaurants, and at the center of a shopping mall.
I have run games at Old Country Buffet. (Worked great! Once. The other two times... please shoot me if I try again.)
I have run games at conventions.
Umm... yeah... where I am, I game.
The Auld Grump
* Unitarian/Universalist - we don't know the answers, but we like the questions. My girlfriend
is a pagan - while I did not meet her at the pagan retreat, it is where she failed to seduce me two years ago. It took her a few years, but she won in the end.
