No, they are "very bulky" according to the FAQ.

No. Scout biker sergeants can take locator beacons though.

No, just tac squads, scouts or characters. That being said most people don't run terminators anymore, so it doesn't matter so much.

Locator Beacons are an option for Scout Bikes. And have the non-scattering rule for any deep striking units, not just Terminators. Regular bikes cannot. Scout and Tactical Sergeants can have teleport homers though.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

Hmm, I don't like the small amount of Locator Beacons.
I was really hoping scouts could use that, so I could make an ASM-list with my RG.

Gotta push sales of Scout Bikes somehow.

I don't know why they didn't allow scout bikers more special weapon options besides the grenade launcher. Might give them a little more tactical diversity.

Because there's no model for it

Columbus, Oh

I have not heard back yet..

Do Captains who ride Bikes make bikers troops? If so, is it 1 per Captain?

And.. minimal size biker squads are how big? Can they tote Grav Guns (asking for vanilla SM)

-P

2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

Order of St Ursula (Sisters of Battle): W-2, L-1, T-1
Get of Freki (Space Wolves): W-3, L-1, T-1
Hive Fleet Portentosa (Nids/Stealers): W-6, L-4, T-0
Omega Marines (vanilla Space Marine): W-1, L-6, T-2
Waagh Magshak (Orks): W-4, L-0, T-1
A.V.P.D.W.: W-0, L-2, T-0

Yes the captain, Khan & the company master all make bikes troops if they are on a bike. The rumours were wrong on this one.

minimum is 3 bikes, but they wont count as troops unless you have 5.

Yes they can have grav guns, they are included in special weapons which are the same as before, 2 per squad.

As to your first question, do you need plasma or melta? Almost certainly I'd say. Grav might be flavour of the month atm, but melta is still king for those av 14 targets and insta death T8, plasma is more effective vs a wider range of targets than grav, and is better vs armour values less than 13. Flamers are still useful for hordes.

Thank you Bill, even if you are blind.. you see well!

Are the special weapons "bike mounted" like the special DA command box, or is this a biker firing a standard weapon?

I would prefer the rider mounted, as that is much less convertin I gotta do.

I am thinking that flamer bike squad might be a lot of fun.. but that might be my inner ork talkin.

I haven't seen any models for grav guns specifically for bikes, I will be just giving them to the rider like any other gun. No 'normal' space marines bikes exchange the bolters for the special weapons, they are exchanged for bolt pistols. Only the Ravenwing black knights and chaos bikers change the bike mounted weapons.

For the most part whitescars have the most advantages, though DA still have a few tricks.
I'll be playing my ravenwing using either the DA or the Whitescars rules. Its just nice to have a bit of variation when you play and both have the options to mix it up a little.
