Ryan, what kind of brushes are you using for your washes? Are you in need of any? I might be able to send you a sample pack.

That is very generous of you, thank you for offering. I currently use a cornell 4 and a cornell 10/0 for my washes. I'll send you a PM with my address. If you are able to send a sample pack I would greatly appreciate it!
Edit: PM with info and gratitude sent!

Resin Printer (minaitures) is a 4K printer with one of the largest build volumes available for a resin printer (192mm x 120mm x 245mm) with an amazing .01mm resolution! This professional printer is one of the best resin printers on the market!
FDM Printer (terrain) also has one of the largest build volumes available for an FDM printer (400mm x 400mm x 450mm) and has an amazing ,05mm build accuracy.

Oh, right, if you use the drill method it is *highly* recommended that you use something like, say, a whole cardboard box of reasonable size (maybe 1-2' on a side) with a hole cut in that is plenty big to insert the drill and model-on-a-stick, but not much larger. That way, all of the dip is harmlessly blasted over the inside of a cardboard box.
I could see someone running out and trying it without thinking though. That would be pretty brutal

Haha, I have managed to spin an old metal rat ogre, but I think that's the upper limit.
It would be pretty impressive if you could find a vat of dip big enough for a land raider though! And especially impressive if you could get a strong enough bond to the nail so it would actually spin at speed

I use bombay mahogany on my nids, and yes it does transform the colors quite a bit, and darken's them significantly.
However, i chose base colors with this in mind, and did MANY MANY TESTS before I went into full scale dipping my army.
I cannot stress important it is (especially all the questions about "how it would look") for you to do a test on a few minis before you start doing this on a big mini or a vehicle.
Also, when brushing on, its takes a bit of care to get used to how to do it. I suggest getting a toy tank or model car, paint it to your scheme, and use it for practice.
As others have said, dipping is just one tool in the arsenal of others for a hobbyist to use. I don't use it on all my armies, but its certainly one of my "go to" options - as are my washes, airbrush, blending palette etc.
Best of luck and have fun!

I like dipping anything that is earthy and that I plan to paint a lot of. It is also great for tabletop armies that are meant to be played. The extra layer of polyurethane makes the models rock solid with less stress in handling, and little fear of wear.
I was going to bombay my nids, but they were something like bleached bone and bestial brown (to use the old color names), and they melted together so I had to use the antique walnut. It is almost not dark enough, but it'll do.
Davethepak is very right about many iterations of testing, there are a lot of shades and it seems like only one of them is ever right for some reason

I use Army Painter strong tone (the middle tint) on all of my stuff but I brush it on rather than dipping. I prefer it over a wash as seems to give a more consistent tone if applied properly and not allowed to pool. It also gives a layer of protection not offered by washes but does require (looks much better) a layer of matte varnish (Testors Dulcoat) over it to take away the gloss.

With badab black wash I never had to water it down, nulin oil wash and the other new versions of the washes I had to water them down at least 1:1 as they were much darker/thicker.
I like applying washes with an airbrush, really really quick way of getting it into the recesses very quickly. I usually apply MiG washes & filters using my airbrush, these I prefer to the GW washes.
