You could probably scrounge e-bay for gants at least. There should still be plenty of BFM gants floating around.

100 gaunts per turn
lel, you do realize that this cannot be allowed to not happen, right?
Just use movement trays - with that many you can pack them in close and who gives a damn how many his barrage blasts kill per turn because theres a bloody hundred of them per turn!

Well, Tervis can't produce anymore gants if they roll doubles on the 3d6 to produce them. So it'll start petering out pretty fast.
Of course by the time it does the board will be flooded in models.

Well you should only be losing about 1.6 tervigons a turn due to rolling doubles.

I still don't see timing as an issue if you pre plan. The point is NOT to spawn every turn... you just go 10 models straight forward and hope he isn't playing DEldar. No easy Kill Points, and you should win every objective game ever.

I tried this list once on vassal. Against a willing opponent, as we were both interested in seeing what would happen. He ran the old flamer screamer spam, and after the game we both agreed that it would be hard to find an army that could beat it. At the time, at least.

Pretty sure Dark Eldar will mince this list, to them a Tervigon is just 6 Space Marines you paid lots of points for.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

Actually it is 6 space marines you pay 10 for which give you more troops and may have FnP....

I play tested a similar list at 1850 in preperation for a tournament and came to the conclusion that I couldn't;
1. justify spending all that money on Gaunts
2. stand the level of models required to paint to put it on a table!
All joking aside, if you can buy it and paint it, do it, who knows, after a couple of games you'll probably have sped up to the point where you and your opponent can have a turn 4?

Ok, 6 marines with Feel No Pain, but as far as more Troops go; once your Tervigons are gone Termagants evaporate, and Dark Eldar are very capable of killing 10 Tervigons at 2000 points.

Insect-Infested Nurgle Chaos Lord

Might take a turn or two though, while they get closer....
A properly kitted DE force could probably down 5-6 of them on turn 1, but a TAC list not rigged for explodetonation of MC's would probably only manage 4-5.
I'd love to test this, When i have time to give it a whirl i'll cook up a list for my DE and try it.
|
The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

To kill a tervigon with FnP you need to put around 81 poisonned shots (81 shots, 54 hits, 27 wounds, 9 unsaved, 6 through FnP) or 16.5 lance shots (16.5 shots, 11hits, 9 wounds, 6 pass FnP).
So to kill 5-6 turn 1 sounds a bit optimistic i think, even 4-5... as you likely wont be in rapid fire range with all the gaunts around...

If you put more then 1000 gaunts on the field at some point in a real game take a picture. This is something I need to see.
