I do front to front because 1: It's how I learned to move models and 2: I like to be precise in my measurements. I think Mid to Mid is ok as long as the player doing it is a honest genuine person because even if they do fub it from time to time it will average out over the long run. The problem comes in when that player is not an honest person, then the fubs all tend to be in their favor.

If you're doing side-point to side-point (which I suppose is included in the "middle to middle" option) it's much more accurate, and much harder to fub than front to front, as I demonstrated on the last page. But it depends what you mean by "middle to middle" of course.

I ask, because i'm having a tough time figuring out how "middle of the base" would be reliable consistently.
Infinity uses TWO sizes of bases. 25mm and 40mm and BOTH are circles. No squares, rhomboids, ovals or hexes. Just circles.
Centre of a circle is easy enough to find given that the slots in their bases run along the diameter. Unlike GW's off-centre slots.
I'm having difficulty believing how you could not be able to find the "centre" of a circle of a given diameter. Did you just not pay attention in school geometry or something?
Possibly something not taught in your schools - I learned it at the age of 12 or so just before starting our high school (Math teachers were next door neighbours).
I think that the issue of the center being "hard to find" isn't a flaw in peoples' educations, but more an issue of it being difficult to eyeball precisely. As has been said, measuring from center to center looks more suspicious when you're sitting across the table, where as front to front is easier for an opponent to verify at a glance.

I generally measure from front to front, but there are those times when i just make a movement just by eyeballing, my games usually don't come down to the wire so no one i play has problems winging a movement now and then. Never heard of or seen someone measuring from mid to mid, but i will keep and open mind and try that out sometime.

Three. The Maghariba Guard is meant to be mounted on an 80mm base, they just don't provide it.

Close.
If you ask them, it's meant to go on an 80mm or 4" base.
(not that 80mm is close to 4" at all - Cray-cray Euros can't deal with imperial measurements.)

First up, you're coming across as rather patronising here, you might want to tone that down a bit. Second, it's not a question of being able to tell where the centre of a circle is, it's more the model sitting or squatting over it, possibly overlapping the edges. And if you're using flock or a scenic resin base, the centre line won't be readily visible.
