I think you should stick with you 2 with dual Stars and 1 Dual BL. That sounds like a good combo.

Ok, so, running the math for Expected Kill (E(kill) from now on), your point isn't well supported.

Also, nothing in the description of Laser Lock indicates it can't do it to another scatter laser.

Against T4 marines:
2xSL = E(kill) 1.73
2xSC = E(kill) 2.22
SL/SC = E(kill) 2.22

So SL/SC seems to perform about the same, a little better vs vehicles, a little worse against Terminators. Also, 2xSC is a more uniform distribution, so I can rely on it much more.

Also, as soon as I guide/prescience my Lord, 2xSC is a clear winner. Range is the same in all cases, so not a factor.

Exactly this! I don't need to be better vs vehicles, I have a knight, another lord and at least 10 wraithcannons for that. Plus - worse case they're MC's. And they love to peel open tanks with their hands.

I think the SC is the best option for elite troop killers. I have horde control with 5 d-scythes and 2 serpents. Well, a degree of it anyway, but some nice elite MEQ or TEQ killers would be tasty from a distance, and I think the starcannons are better at that. Especially with the Farseer guiding them, as mentioned above. 4 twin linked S6 ap2 is better than 4 S6 ap 6 and then 2 twin linked S6 ap2. Well, in my opinion anyway!
