Hmm... I could see a use in running the cauldron in a unit of black guard. Go narrow so the guard are hiding behind the cauldron. Keeps the guard alive and the guard keeps the cauldron stubborn. Being narrow also makes it easy to get other units within 6" of the cauldron.
