What release? If you want GW to make some new one click bundles for Orks instead of a full Codex after 10 years, that can be arranged. Esp. if you are willing to pay 80$ for a standard unit of 10 miniatures and 65-70$ for a heavy/fast unit of 5 miniatures.

And I don´t know what to do. Should I buy this dreg of a codex (again!) to show my interest? Or express my contempt by voting with my wallet?

It is one of my favorite armies, with an amazing background and distinct feeling. Warhammer 40000 has been over 25 years out there. There are many incredible cool armies that have disappeared while we get more and more and more and more supplements and codices about Space Marines. It is really frustrating.

Don't buy it. Giving them money for a half arsed effort only tells them that people will happily fork over cash for any old tat.

I am actually. I wish they'd do it properly.

The model range is outdated and hugely expensive, they've been trapped between a half-hearted White Dwarf update and a series of FAQs, and this is all they get?

For crying out loud GW, start from scratch. It's the only way you'll pull SoB out of the hole they're in.

Well, it looks like that GW re-released the SoB codex from the WD two years ago and enhanced it with some newer gimmicks (APO formations, Warlord traits, and whatnot).

Minimal effort and maximal profit.

It's a bit more than that to be honest. There's adjustments to points and a re-working of the Faith system to help it scale it in bigger games, not tomention a bucket load of Fluff and art. Not exactly a steaight cut and paste from the WD.

To addres the OP, SoB did need this update more than Ork as there's no way of getting the WD. Besides it's not like the Orks have had no long from GW since their last codex. If I remember correctly you got tplatic dreff dres and Killa Kans and a whole new kit with new rules- the dakkajet. I'm not saying orks don'tt need an updatebut you've got no reason to feel hard done by like us Sisters players.

You're kidding right ? Tons of people like SOB. It's just that they haven't had an in-print codex in a while, and critical models are currently un-purchaseable.

You don't see them on the table because the models are hard to find, the codex has been out of date for years, and the models are super expensive on the secondary market - some of which are not even available on the primary market.

Most people are very happy that Sisters are getting even this small amount of love.

Or they just think that the game doesn't need yet another power armor army. SoB should have been a chapter tactics option in C:SM, or a couple units in a combined inquisition codex with GK.

I actually do like both of these ideas. A chapter Tactic in C:SM, with maybe on new plastic box kit or something would have been cool, as would a section dedicated to the in GK.

It's the Digital Edition, we don't have confirmed date for the hardback yet, but it will likely be around March 2014.¨

No-one ever plays them, because the models are expensive, and old. That's literally it. If they had updated the models to plastic, it would be like a whole new army would exist, rather than something a tiny minority of players play.

If they were in plastic, I would play them. And I know plenty who would love sisters allies.

Also I really don't understand why the new Imperial Fists Codex isn't the whole Chapter- its apparently just the one Company??

So it appear to be a full supplement about 100 marines who guard Terra - I assuming they do leave sometimes otherwise they haven't gained many battle honours since the Heresy?

I guess be interesting to see what their part was in Vandires reign - where they part of the force that tried to storm the palace, defending it with the Brides of the Emperor or keeping out of the way........

Same thing with the rumoured Iron Hands - just one Great Company - why not the whole Chapter - it would be a bit like just doing "The Howling Banshees of Iyanden" or one small element of a Ork Waaagh??

SoBs needed a codex terribly, and didn't get what they deserve. That being said, I think it's shocking and appalling how long they've let Orks go. Orks are a popular army and people actually buy them. Furthermore, people who play orks tend to buy a LOT of bits from the world. GW might ignore this because they don't get bought directly from GW, but trust me, supported secondary retailers supports GW. Where's the xenos love?

Yes, I am upset about the release... but for different reasons.

Without metal replacements, the army won't see the light of day besides those that collected the sisters back in the day. It really is sad, because if the release is all it seems to be, which is a more playable force, they could have BANKED on making new models for them. Hell, I want SoB allies and I don't even have an army to ally them to.

Grey Knights with Sisters and Xenos would have been a spectacular book, as I didn't feel Grey Knights needed their own book.

Of all the Ordos, Hereticus realistically are the ones that have the MOST unique properties when compared to other marine chapters. Sad really.

On a side note, yes, I would like to see the Orks get a new book, but it'll come.

Most SoB fans I've talked with would rather that their codex was written as an 'Ecclesiarchy' based army than as an 'Ordo Hereticus' army, which means not lazily lumping them in with the Grey Knights. Don't blame them at all. I'd rather see all the other SM books combined together than see that happen.

Otherwise, I agree. GW needs to pull its thumb out; sort out these supposed production problems so basic plastic models can finally be made and commit to full releases as often as they do with other armies.

Everybody who is trying to infer that SoB fans are some sort of negligible minority, please take note of the Games Workshop: Digital Editions Facebook page. Before the AS codex was announced, it took them a few months to get to 888 likes. After the AS codex's announcement? That page now has 3389 likes. That looks like plenty of enthusiasm, to me.

 Greyish wrote:

They've said that the problems have been sorted.
A couple of these ones got some further points. It was mentioned that originally there had been a technical problem with developing Sisters plastics, but that Games Workshop would now have the technology to be able to do them.

Would prefer a mix of Witch Hunters, Ecclesiarchy, and SoB myself, but generally so far I'd FAR and above prefer that Inquisition get separated from GK, given their own supplements, and be allies.

Sisters of Battle are very different from Space Marines. Aside from being WS, T, and I 3 instead of 4, they also have Faith points that change how the army plays. 20-Sister units, Seraphim, Repentia, Penitent Engines, and a number of other units don't have exact analogues in the Space Marine codex. They're superficially similar, but quite different. A combined Inquisition codex wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for them and Grey Knights, but they deserve some representation.

Obviously they have their small differences just like every other marine book, but SoB and C:SM are a lot closer than Tyranids and C:SM. Just like BT their differences aren't enough to justify an entire codex, and they should get the same treatment as BT.

BT also had a book that was highly similiar to what the Vanilla Marines had and (to reference an arguement I've gotten before), had a limited book that only represented one faction. Sisters have 6 main Orders, and countless orders and there is a lot of potential for variety there.

Or are you just against an army that can be different that Marines (while using SOME similiar equipment) and think we should all play one massive Marine dex instead?
