Thanks to Tom for running a fun gig.
Round 1
Jarred - I'm glad you enjoyed playing an opponent who coaches both sides, to (insanely) defeat himself.
Round 2
Adam - you didn't know about the Sept 13 RB errata about Psy-Power selection no longer split between codex and the RB? Really? Yeah, right. That's been six weeks. You're a GT and RTT regular winner. You play nearly every weekend, yes? Don't be so disingenuous. You knew about it. ~ edit Ha. Turns out I was completely wrong about this , so, Adam, I apologize for my remarks . However, you were polite and you beat me legitimately. And you even gave in on our 4 or 5 disagreements for LoS & range. So, well done.
Round 3
Dylon - thanks for being the guy whom I broke my losing streak on, and thus by extension, Jervis Johnson - thanks for writing a codex with a weak army for me to defeat. Seriously, Dylon, I'm glad you had fun.
All - paint your damned WraithKnights. Only Adam's (and mine) were table top ready. Now, this not a big deal, and I'm cool with, "Hey, man, I just built this and didn't have time to paint it ... " , but when only 2 of the 10 WKs at the tourney have more than one color of paint ... sheeesh.
- - - - - - -
Tom,
Might I recommend having a large coffee maker or just a regular one for the next Mid-(10Wraith)-Knight Madness? Players can donate or pay a buck for a refill of their travel-mug or a styrofoam cup. The wee bit of cash it'll generate ought to pay for itself, coffee, creamer, cups, etc.
Local southern California players, when Tom & Thou Shalt Game hosts another one, I highly recommend going. Good tables and terrain, fun atmosphere, and lotsa prize support. All around, a well run event.

What Casey said! It was a real blast and I think just about everyone walked away with something. One of these days I'll show up with a fully painted army!
Thanks to Tom and all the companies who pitched in Prize Support for this tournament, one of my favs!

Ha! Wimp! After Mid **Ten-Wraith**Knight Madness ended at 7:30, Mike and I went to Game Empire and played that tourney!

We were gonna roll off powers, both running eldar armies. I mentioned the recent errata:
Q: Can psychic powers be mixed and matched from the psychic disciplines and those found in the Codexes? (p418)
A: No. You may select from the psychic powers listed in the Codex as normal or swap them for a number of rolls on the psychic disciplines tables.
Adam said he hadn't heard about it.
I figured guys like you, Allan, and Adam, and the other tourney journeymen, top notch players, would be all up on the current state of affairs, especially as significant a nerf this is to the farseer. All three of us being total Bros on the Space Elf general-ship and all. Maybe Reece hasn't heard yet ....
I'm busting Adam's chops about it ... cuz he and I are budz now that we've actually played a game.

That's not a recent change. That's a holdover from the beginning of 6e when the BRB was brand new and everybody still had preselected powers in their codexes.

Great Event, and it helps a charity to boot.
Had three great games, event was extremely well run, fun, and would definitely come again.
Just going to chime in here since you guys are discussing it, that FAQ only affect 5th edition non "psychic discipline" bases psychic charts (I.E. the ones where you choose your power instead of rolling) in the codexes, a farseer can generate powers from both the codex and BRB which is why they hadn't ever heard of it.

Also, the event was fun-even if my first round win got turned into a draw by an untimely orbital bombardment from the local food kitchen!!! Lol, well played to my first round opponent.
Also, never saw so man wraithknights! I personally would have brought 5 but I couldn't get any of my eldar friends to lend me theirs, ha...
Anyone that can go to the next ever shod definitely make it-great group of guys and organizers. I heard the next one will be the same format but with fast attack so here's to seeing 60 WarpSpiders every game...

Well, that thread is from August.
Huh.
I'll re-fly the Q in YMDC and see what the collective Nerd Rage offers.
We'll keep this thread on topic of MM and the charity aspect and how fun it was. And damn, but the 909 gets cold at night!

It was 30 degrees that night...I learned to dress warm and wore thermals under everything! The previous event had the doors open all night so my wife and I were so cold we felt like we were in a Donner party reinactment minus the cannibalism.
So FYI to all going to the next event-bring light source and dress warm. Extra rations and coffee optional.

This guy has *1* warp spider left in a unit and chooses to use the warp jump and rolls doubles!!! That was pretty epic, lol...
Thanks for the fun game-we had 5 wraithknights between the both of us (I had 2 and he had 3) and by turn 3 I think they were all dead...including my riptide. Incidentally all of my MCs were killed by an ID distort wound which I couldn't (cover) save for the life of me lol. I live in OC so pm me if you are ever in the area and we can set up a game!

Midnight Madness Wrap-Up
First of all I want to personally thank the owner of Thou Shalt Game, Jesse Lopez, for once again allowing us the use of his store at obscene hours so that we could run this event!!
I would also like to take a second and give a huge shout-out to Tom Cox for stepping up and running this event in my absence.
Another big THANKS!! to Games Workshop and the rest of our sponsors for putting up some hefty prize support between our 40k and Warmahordes events.
and last, but not least, our own Magilla Gurilla, for doing ALL of the legwork to get this entire weekend of the ground!!
In the end we collected 1200+ cans for the Food Pantry of Murrieta!!!
Thanks to all of our awesome participants for helping to feed the needy families of the community!!
For pics and more coverage, check out the TSG Miniature Gamers page on Facebook.
Thanks Again to Everyone Involved!!

Yeah, that FAQ applies mainly to the "older", un-updated codices.
The 3 newer codices - Chaos Marines, Chaos Daemons and Eldar - actually lets you choose both codex and BRB powers for the same psyker. As a matter of fact, some of the units in the Chaos book have to first choose a codex power before they can choose BRB powers.
