Warlord trait: Murder Incarnate-I'm going to spit-ball some DE Warlord Traits- Any CC attacks the warlord makes that are the roll of 6 grant an additional attack at the same profile.

Special rules: Power From Pain, Night Vision, eternal warrior, fearless, fleet, independent character, Dark Light of Chaos* etc.

Dark Light of Chaos: When Drazhar is assailed with Hostile Magicks the thousands of souls he has absorbed through slaughter will be shifted to take the brunt of the psykic forces. The souls shriek in eternal suffering as they are used up and spent to protect their murderer, their dyeing screeches disorientating all psy-sensitive beings.


Grants Adamantium Will USR. When a Deny the Witch attempt is successful any enemy psykers, daemons (As defined in the Grey knight Faq) or Eldar within 12'' must make a Blind Test as if they where hit with a blind causing weapon.


Master of Blades. Drazhar has the Klaivex power 'Murderous assault as well as having a 5+ invulnerable save against wounds caused in the fight sub-phase.

Darting Strike. At the start of any fight sub-phase that Drazhar is involved in, at Initiative step 10 Drazhar can move to any part of the combat that has room to place him. He must remain in consistency with his unit.

Instruments of Pain:

Darting Death. A twin pair of Demi-Klaives masterfully crafted and drenched in the blood of thousands of warriors and millions of innocents across the millennia. They strike like quick silver, leaving crimson patterns in the air, or can be clasped together to form a massive menacing blade that can cut through even the most reinforced armour plate. They have seen a thousand deaths, and they will see thousands more.

Range - Strength User AP 2 Quick-Silver (Grant +2 attacks)

Range - Strength +2 AP 2 Cleaving Blow (Grants Instant Death on a 6 to wound)

I like how each of the Phoenix Lords has a definate focus, but I have gotta say Asurmen and Lhykosidae are my favourites.

How about putting your skills to the Phoenix Lord of the Shining Spears? I would be interested to see what you could do with him.

*SoulFire: All Phoenix Lords burn with an inner fire and when viewed with warp sight they appear as shining entities of pure SoulFire. Each Phoenix Armour is akin to a miniture infinity circuit, each housing thousands of Eldar souls, creating a deep well of psykic power to call upon when needed so that even to a Lord not skilled in the arts of the Seer can deflect crippling psykic blows.

Sleipnir: A master piece of aeronautical technology, It is the fastest Jetbike ever to be made before or since, jinking though storms of fire with amazing reflexes. Sleipnir is equipped with ancient technology that turns Drastanta's figure into a surge of star light, which can be projected onto his enemies blinding them. Its said that Drastanta is trying to out run something, but what could possibly catch up with star-light itself?

Sleipnir is an Eldar Jetbike that allows Drastanta to re-roll cover saves and is equipped with a twin-linked shurikan catapult.

The Celestial Lance:
6" S8 AP2 Assault 1, Lance, Spirit Shatter (If it kills a character or MC, place the large blast marker over the slain model and all enemy models suffer a hit at the slain units toughness with AP -)

This was a lot different to all my other Phoenix Lords because I had no base line to work with. I had to give her good enough firepower and survivability to justify her over to Hunters, but didn't want to make her OP. I don't think she is done, but here is her draft. First impressions?


Spoiler:
Apolline is the most rash and quick to anger Phoenix Lord, for she has the temper of a raging sun. She is a spectacular pilot of a pedigree not seen by the universe in millennia, the nuance of aerial combat second nature to her. She is one with her Nightshade Interceptor 'Faolchu's Vengeance' and talks to it as if they where next of kin. She once, long ago, had a relationship with Baharroth that blazed like a Nova, shining bright in blood stained souls, but duty keeps them apart. It is said she will fall by his side at the battle of end times, fighting together until the dying of the final light.

Astra Cannons. The Eldar race believe they have the art of containing a suns power to an art, they have mastered the stars and suns and they are at their command. Apoline believes the power of such celestial beings shouldn't be contained or weakened even for her own safety and this is epitomised in her weaponary.

Apolline's Interceptor replaces its 2 bright lances with the Astra cannons with the following Profile. They count as a single weapon for the purpose of shooting.
Range: 48

AP: 1
Heavy 4Lance, Gets Hot.

The Stella Spirit: Apolline's Interceptor houses a large spirit stone at its core that fills with the souls of her past selves when she powers up the fighter. These Spirits weave protective layers and wards around the ship, obscuring it from all without keen witch sight or blind luck.

The Stellar Spirit gives Rosali and her Crimson Hunter the USR Shrouded, but this rule is lost against glancing or penetrating hits that are caused by a unit that contains a psyker.

Warlord Trait: Apolline may never be your warlord, and she may never be your compulsory HQ choice.

In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I've got the Shining Spear Phoenix Lord Drastanta just above Apolline (Meaning Sun-Light in Greek), he is mentioned in the Iyanden supplement where they found his spear in the relic section. I haven't got the IA containing his rules, so I would have a lot of trouble updating him. Could you give me a run down of his rules? Or better yet have a go of updating him yourself using the Phoenix Lord base-line I made in the first post!

The updated Shadow Spectre rules are available for free from the FW website. The only special thing he has is a 24" range, Heavy 3 Prism Blaster with an inbuilt power glaive.

I like him, very much. While I don't like his aspect, much preferring Warp Spiders, i'd be quite interested in using this guy due to his ability to split-shoot a heavy rail gun shot (3 hits are quite likely, meaning 1 ghostlighted strength 10 AP 1 shot), meaning he has much better synergy with Dark Reapers then Ra does due to them having similar targets. Remnant of Glory: The Spear of Twilight
This is a unique, beautifully constructed Prism Blaster with an in-built power glaive.

Range 24'' S 7 AP 2, Heavy 3, Lance, Ghostlight*
Range - S +2 AP 3, Melee

*Ghostlight: When a unit inflicts two or more hits with the Ghostlight special rule on an enemy unit or vehicle, it may choose to either resolve the hits normally, or to inflict a single Ghostlight attack in place of all hits with the Ghostlight special rule. When resolving a Ghostlight attack, use the majority profile from among the weapons that inflicted the Ghostlight hits, and for each hit that was inflicted on the target unit or vehicle either increase the attack’s Strength by +1 or reduce its AP by -1, to a maximum of Strength 10 and a minimum of AP 1. If Irillyth generates at least one hit, the unit may use the profile for the Spear of Twilight.

Remnant of Glory: Shade Holo-field
This ancient holo-field is batter able to protect its bearer. It follows all the rules of a normal Spectre Holo-field and confers a 5+ Invulnerable save.


Shadow of Death: All enemy units within 12" of a Shadow Spectres squad that includes an Exarch with this special rule, roll an extra D6 when making Leadership tests and Morale checks, using the two highest rolls to resolve the test. Models with the Fearless special rule are immune to this effect.


Shadow Spectre Jetpack: A model with a Shadow Spectre jet pack gains the Jet Pack unit type as described in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook, granting them the Bulky, Deep Strike and Relentless special rules when moving using the Jet Pack rules.

The major changes I made, were giving his holo-field an invul save (used to be a 5+ invul, 4+ if the attack was from 12" or more away), and allowing his unit to use his weapon for Ghostlight instead of the majority profile (the original rules used his gun for the ghostlight attack).

I think perhaps Apolline should have 2 x 2 shot lance weapons like the ones in her entry and be able to split fire. Perhaps also make all her shots precision on a 4+?

She should be awesome in the shootiing phase and also survivable to make up for the fact she can't fight in combat and can potentially be one shotted.

Perhaps a 4+ or 5+ invuln save for her fighter and/or make her immune to skyfire (i.e. always hit on a 6)?
