Okay, so we didn't get the 100% by the end of Doctor Who (which was awesome) but we did hit 85%.

So close now, just need £115...

We figured the Promo Package £50 with dice and shirt would be the best choice for oversees backers as it ships free, is a nice price and gives the backer some physicalnstuff for supporting us.
What would you suggest as a reward for say £30 for oversees backers?
At 72% now by the way http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/j-p/war-and-peace-games-club-tables-and-terrain

Maybe dice without the t-shirt? It will save you a fair bit on the shipping as well.

You can buy dice as Add-Ons - just scroll down towards the bottom of the home page for details -. £17 gets you 20 dice - and if your total pledge is more than £50 then shipping is free. Otherwise add £8 to cover shipping costs.

Now at 87%.

To show some of the fun we have here at the club, here's the link to our DreadBall league final video. Just think what ten new tables plus terrain would do! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151706175861008

With seven days left we only need another £75 and that's ten new 8x4 games tables plus terrain funded for the club. We'll have a great weekend launch party and if we can stretch to it, add a KOW tournament.

So please - put all your Heroquest pledges towards helping us out.

So. Close!

Definitely recommended throwing in a little to help this fund, it'll be an awesome thing for the gamers there, a new venue for events and tournaments for all sorts of games (lots of Mantic ones, so if you've backed any of their stuff and like the sound of a new tourney venue to go to, chipping in might pay off later down the line).

Plus JP has put ridiculous amounts of work in over the years into getting this off the ground (the whole thing already had to be scrapped once after a traditional business loan was refused.. hence why kickstarter this time!) and it's a really genuine grassroots/ community KS, not something you see often.. closest thing I can think of is that gamer/ geek pub that got kickstarted over in America.

Woke to find a few more backers had thrown their hat in the ring and so we start today on 98%. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us so far - we had an amazing day yesterday with 10 new backers arriving. For a small KS like ours, that's a huge number.

We now need just £11 to hit our goal of £800, and with 5 days to go we can start looking seriously at our first stretch goal - Demo Tables!

Stretch Goal 1 - Demo Tables

Back when I ran a GW store, our demo tables were the lifeline: if they ran well, we got more.people playing at our games nights and spending more money. For War & Peace our tournaments will be the lifeline, but demo tables will help tell us what systems are popular and which could become our next tournament system.

So far we are dedicating tournament time to Kings Of War and DreadBall and possibly X-Wing but there are other systems we want to play.

If we hit £1200 we can add four 4x4 boards dedicated to starter sets for a variety of games. These will again be painted both sides and have fully painted starter sets for people to learn the rules. If they like the game, our club armoury will be able to provide it at a great discounted price - one of the benefits of being a member of the club, even if you live abroad.

The first four demo boards will be:

Deadzone
Bolt Action
Firestorm Armada
Dropzone Commander
We also want to demo the following:

Loka
X-Wing
If there's another game you'd like see played drop us a line.

These demo boards will be ready for the weekend Launch Party and we'll have experts on the day to show you how to play.

So please, keep  pledging, putting the word out and help us smash this first stretch goal.

Many thanks

JP

Such is the nature of Kickstarter, we're now back down to 87%. When I told people I was going to be running a KS campaign for the club, a few shook their heads and smiled knowingly: "Expect a roller coaster ride, especially in the last few days," was the response, and boy they weren't kidding.

People raise and lower pledges all through a campaign, and I've done that myself on several I've backed. A real world is beyond the toy soldiers and 99.99% of the time, that has to come first and we fully understand and appreciate that.

So it's back out there putting the word out in as many places as possible and keep on pushing towards the end. I'm going to be adding the new Add-Ons shortly and if you can think of anything that may help get people pledging, leave a comment below.

Cheers

JP

The teaser dice in the update is very interesting! Only 100 pounds to the goal with 3 days to reach it, should be very doable.

Back to 100% funded. Whew, bit of a rollercoaster day and now back to where we were. Expect a big update tomorrow.

By the time this update goes out there will be just over 24 hours remaining for this, War & Peace Games Club first Kickstarter. As of writing, we have raised £884, that's a staggering 110% of our target and for that I'd like to say a big thank you. We had a choppy day on Wednesday thanks in main to my lack of clarity, but once explained people came back, placing their faith in what I am trying to do here once again.

Thank you.

So what can we do in these last few hours to finish with a bang? How about 2 new modified stretch goals:

Stretch Goal 1 - DeadZone & DropZone Commander Demo Table

If we hit £900, we will create demo table for these two game systems, which players can try out on the Weekend Launch Party. Each will be on a 4x4 board (including trestles for support) and have the starter set for each system. The models will be fully painted.

Stretch Goal 2 - Flames Of War & Bolt Action Demo Tables

If we hit £1000, we will create demo tables for WWII games Flames Of War and Bolt Action. Like the previous stretch goal, these will have their own dedicated 4x4 table, complete with fully painted starter sets.

We have some more stretch goals in mind, should we be that lucky. The first goal of DeadZone and Dropzone Commander tables is only £16 away as of writing this post so by adding on some dice, or T-shirts or even raising your pledges for more tournament tickets means we can get these extra boards funded.

Let's end this with a bang and go really crazy.

Is This Stretch Goal 3?

Cheers

This has half a day to go and is very close to the Dropzone Commander and Deadzone demo tables. If you've got a few pounds to spare it's a worthy cause imo

Okay guys, we are in the last stages now and those demo tables for DeadZone and Dropzone Commander are tantalizingly close - just £21 away. If all backers just raise their pledge by £1 we've done it. If all current backers raised their pledge by £3 we'll also hit the Historical Demo tables for Flames Of War and Bolt Action.

As always, getting the word out there is a big help, so please let everyone know we are in the dying hours and so close to hitting our demo table stretch goals.

Bonus Rewards

If we hit our £900 stretch - all backers will get an extra 2 Club Dice

If we hit our £1000 stretch - all backers will get an extra 5 Club Dice.

Weekend Party Tickets / Tournament Tickets

For those people just wanting to buy a single ticket for a friend, either for the Weekend Launch Party or a future tournament, you can add one to your pledge by raising your pledge level by £10. This is a saving on all future tickets sales which will probably be closer to £15.

Just raise your amount by clicking the Manage Your Pledge button and then indicate what and how many tickets you require when the survey/pledge Manager comes out.

So that's it for now. Expect an update every hour till we finish.

Cheers

JP

Let's show you our 3rd stretch goal:

This is a biggie stretch but a much needed one. If we can get to £1300 we can provide food at our Weekend Launch Party INCLUDED in the price of the ticket. This will be a finger buffet* with both hot and cold selections.

*does not include actual fingers.

And also just for fun... I wonder who this is coming along to the Weekend Launch Party?

Stretch Goal 1 Unlocked!

Mystery Guest Revealed

In all the excitement of hitting our first stretch goal, I forgot to reveal who our Mystery Guest will be. Of course, it's Ronnie Renton, CEO of Mantic Games. He'll be coming along over the course of the Weekend Launch Party, hopefully to play a few games of DeadZone or maybe even take part in the KOW tournament.

So if you want to pick Mr Renton's brain about all the latest goings on at Mantic then get your ticket to the event now by pledging.

And we're done. We finish on £905 of an £800 target and can now add ten new tables and fill them with terrain. We will also be hosting a Weekend Launch Party in March, followed by tournaments every month beginning with Kings Of War in Arpil.

Thank you everyone for your help and support. It means so much more to me than you can possibly imagine and allows me to take War & Peace Games Club on that first step towards the dream of expanding into a fully fledged Gaming Centre.

All the best

Glad it all went well.

As this is completed I'm going to move this thread out of news/rumours.

We expect pics as/when the event happens !
