It's wayyyy to early to speculate on this anyway.
How much have you guys outside of the NE really seen of Christie? We get plenty of Jersey news in the Philly area, and I'm not sure that you really know much about the guy outside of hurricane coverage and bro-hugs with Obama.
He flirts with moderation in some areas, but overall is more conservative than some of you seem to think. He's just a little different than conservatives in some other parts of the country. This isn't a bad summary from the liberal perspective.

And I'm not sure you guys are aware of his whole thin-skinned bully routine. It's not just that he does that to lawmakers, he has a tendency to get into it with constituents too. Just within the past week, we have this one:

The headline is silly hyperbole, but the point remains that while that act might play in the "F-U" NE, it may have a hard time playing in some other areas of the country. And Americans everywhere generally do want the POTUS to be *presidential*...campaigns spend a lot of time and money on their candidate's presidential image. Do you want a President who gets red-faced angry at even mildly provocative questions? Is that kind of attitude what we need in a divided country? Don't you think his GOP and potential Dem opponents will be asking these exact questions of voters?
Like I've said before, if I was running an opposing campaign I'd absolutely plant hecklers at his campaign stops to try to get him to say something stupid. It'd be like shooting fish in a barrel with Christie...and one blow-up and he loses the week.
