You eat food to survive, Slaneesh only thrives in places where there is abundance in everything, that is why so many higher ups fall to chaos, people on the lower rank would more easily fall to the more "basic" chaos powers

Except even lower ranks feel the need to perfect themselves, to try and reach perfection is another excess of Slaanesh, to continue to drive yourself towards one singularly goal continually in order to perfect yourself..And then you'll drive yourself to Slaanesh in no time! One does not also need to 'have' things to be in excess.

There's plenty lower ranks can do to garner Slaanesh's viewing, even just being 'interesting'.

I am sure homeless camps and trailer parks are full of slaneesh followers, when you are just trying to survive or drinking to forget your existence, striving for perfection would be very low on their list IMHO.

Drinking in Excess, using Drugs to try and burn away your pain.

Not to mention how many cults would masquerade as 'help centers'. Chance for food? Worship our loving god, who believes all should have food in excess!

Slaneesh is all about enjoyment and excess, the rich do it for fun, the poor would do it to escape reality, IMHO the first would attract Slaneesh, the second Nurgle or even tzeench to get change from your situation.

but it also depends on the person being corrupted. say a guitarist wants to be the best guitarist on the planet. he might go to any of the gods. tzeentch, to orchestrate a massive and intricate plan leading to a rivals downfall. Khorne, to simply go on a rampage and slaughter all other musicians on the planet. Nurgle, to spread a disease which would also kill all other musicians (and probably everyone else too). or Slanesh for the obvious reasons why you would go too slanesh (i don't actually know why you would go to him/her. i don't really know much about him/her

Slaanesh's first followers in the Imperium (that we are told of) were musicians and artists, according to the Horus Heresy. Wherever there's beauty, a strive for perfection, lust (I'm not sure if actual love falls into Slaanesh's domain, but the 3.5 CSM codex has a few Slaaneshi powers that manipulate love), Slaanesh has power. And especially where there's an opportunity to indulge in something for its own sake.

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it.
