Don't be surprised if it "mysteriously" gets lost in the mail or the check bounces. As RiTides said, you paid him through Paypal and should be repaid in kind.

Not to mention if you receive a check and it is no good your the one stuck with the fee for it. Or if the check is stolen, you'll be out money if the original account holder disputes the charge.
If the check bounces you're out the fee but you can then press criminal charges against him. Most states have a law against bouncing checks as fraud of some degree or type and then there's also the federal charge of mail fraud.

I'm glad this has been resolved but the thread title should be reinstated as a warning to those that search on this trader and to prevent a repetition of this situation.
