the goal was a christmas present for my 10 year old son to hopefully get him into gaming a bit so i have an opponent =p lol...

having looked over the rules for both blitz and alpha strike i think alpha strike will be a much better introdction into gaming.
maybe blitz will come along at birthday time

of course i go and get a bunch of inner sphere mechs and then he proceeds to tell me that he wants to run clan jade falcon, go figure.
i think we'll make due though.

If your son likes Clan Jade Falcon make sure you get him a Turkina. That is a mean, mean Falcon assault `Mech.

Stay with Inner Sphere while you are learning the game. I NEVER teach new players on Clantech, because then they just don't properly appreciate the Heat Scale.

And they the never learn to love the heat, or to lose their fear of the heat. Crazy Solaris bouts taught me that.

A player in my Time of War group is obsessed with flamers, inferno rounds and `Mech tazers. He built a `Mech and character around those weapons and as a result he rides that heat scale like a John rides a cheap prostitute--recklessly and with gusto!
