I honestly feel that without the aid of gate of infinity to give you a huge boost in movement speed, that the farsight bomb is not good enough to win games all the time.

The additional speed will allow you to deal with opponents that can bring the right type of firepower to deal with your army.

Look into get Tigerious from Ultramarines, or Sevrin Loth from Red Scorpians.

Yeah, telling people how this and that is 'garbage' and they should just throw their minis into the trash as they're not as efficient as XYZ.

Commander_Farsight,

Commander Brightsword: Fusion blades are good but that is what you have Farsight for: Meleeing tanks and killing people in challenges. Warscaper drone? Awful. Skip. A single shield drone? A waste.
Sub-Commander Torchstar: More flamers? lol…. you know what I'm going to say.

Whoa let's not get crazy here. Farisght is not good at killing HQs in a challenge. Farisght will have trouble with any termie/artificer armor character. His weapon is Str 6 AP -. Brightsword has 4 Str 8 Ap1 and will cause invuln saves. Against Tyranid and Chaos MCs run.

So my newest question is Sevrin Loth, or Tiggy? I can't decide on what to pick. Does Tiggy let you auto choose GoI? I read a rule where if you don't pick a SM power, then you can choose one from anything but Divination (due to what the SM can take psychic power wise). Then if you do that (pick GoI) you can get two more picks from anything but Divination again. This can then let you pick great stuff like Puppetmaster, or Terrify. What do you think, and could I get some help determining which one is better? Thanks for your support.

My 1500 point version uses the bodyguard team. 3x with 2 plasma rifles and target lock, 2x with 2 missile pods and target lock, 1x with 2 fusion blasters and tarbet lock, the last is the support suit with all the toys. Each suit gets 2 gun drones.

Add in Shadowsun with her 2 shield drones.

For the rest I take a 2 man broadside team with interceptor and high yield missile pods, 2x Skyrays and 2x 6 man fire warrior squads who start in reserves.

I deploy the bomb front and center and start moving up. The drones provide extra shooting (don't discount 28 S5 shots at BS3) as well as ablative wounds. I'm expecting the drones to die. It'll take most opponents several turns to kill 14 drones when you have at least a 4+ cover save and the front two always have 3++.

The Broadsides shoot at anything coming in from reserves. I've killed heldrakes, sternguard after they deploy out of a drop pod, etc. Skyrays prioritize killing flyers. Once the flyers are down, burn all remaining missiles on targets of opportunity. Also, Skyrays light up targets for the bomb. With BS4 and 4 markerlights, you'll get between 2 and 3 hits per turn. That gives your bomb BS5 or BS6 against any target.

Oh, and make sure Shadowsun is your Warlord. 3d6 assault phase jet pack movement pretty much voids any issues with not deep striking closer. You can potentially move 24" per turn with a 16" average.

I've won every game I've played with this list and I've played against lists with 3x heldrakes, deathstars of various kinds, other tau. In most games I end up tabling the opponent or at least killing off all HQs and Troops so he loses on secondary objectives and can't claim primary.

Tanks for your help! I appreciate you sharing your experience with the bomb because you actually play it, thanks.

Target Locks are absolutely key on the bodyguard suits. They allow you to fire at up to 8 units. Each bodyguard chooses his own target. Farsight, Shadowsun and the Drones all shoot at the same target.

This is important because it lets you tailor your attacks. Plasma rifles shoot at elite heavy armoured troops, fusion blasters fire at vehicles, missiles fire at light armour and have better range, drones fire into any and all light infantry and can glance AV11 to death pretty easily.

Ok, I'll make sure to add that.

I just realized. So I have 2 TL FB on one of my commanders. When shooting a TL weapon it counts as only shooting 1 weapon right? I have inbuilt multi-trackers so does that mean I could fire both TL FB on each turn?
