Nope. Check the current rules in IA:A, the Lynx has only AV 11. IA:11 has them at 12

This was changed in the recent IA:Apocalypse book, probably because the Scorpion has little reason to exist if the Lynx has the same AV 12. IA11 is obsolete (and from before the current Eldar codex).

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |

Like I said in the other thread this is good to know but the Lords of War.pdf recently released doesn't tell us which book takes precedence. It only says the rules for the Lynx are found in both the IA11 and IA: Apoc, and that in IA11 you should just multiple the structure points by 3 to get the hull point amount. A subject for the YMDC forum I guess.

I think I would take the Scorpion given that the Lynx is AV 11. I think the extra ~300 points is worth 3 HP, AV 12, 360 degree firing arc, and twin-linked. This Also makes me consider taking a scorpion instead of the Rev in smaller games.

If the points costs in the IA:A are the ones we follow even the Lynx costs 420 points instead of 320. That and the AV11 makes it a lot more fairly priced than before. It still brings bargain SD but atleast it isn't basically free. I think they ( GW) should be more clear online which ones are the official and up to date rules and which ones are outdated and therefore useless. In this case then the Scorpion gets 3 HP, +1 armour, a turret and twin-linking for 230 points. I'm still not sure it's worth it but the argument is definately there this time. I guess with these prices I'd just jump straight up to 730 points (80 points more than the Scorpion) for the Vampire Hunter. You get immunities vs. template D weapons, and super-heavy flyers (especially ones with titan holo-fields) are a pain to bring down in general since you have to go through all the 12 hull points with skyfire. That thing can hover too if necessary.

It is also 420 points, not 320.

Also, isn't it 420 points with a practically mandatory 10 point upgrade, not 320?
Granted, still looks like an amazing deal.

Apologies for the delay.
Take clan racoon.
Add thunderhawk.
Add 2 masters of the forge, 1 guy takes the stone for 4+ it will not die laughs.
Add 6 techmarines
Take 4 servitors.
Place servitors inside of thunderhawk.
Attach all listed IC to said guys inside said bird.
You repair on a 1+, meaning there is no need to roll. +8 hull points/fixed engine/fixed guns a turn. It can't be stopped, at least in normal games.
Doesn't everything fail on a 1, pretty sure their is no auto pass in 40k on rollable tests unless it's an exception like ATSKNF and fear

I think the Vampire Raider is better than the Hunter. For the small price of not being TL you gain a modest transport capacity of 20 in which to store a couple of cheap scoring units to drop onto objectives in the lategame. You are BS5 against ground targets and have two shots, so you either only need one hit to get the job done or won't miss with that BS and the size of a super-heavy target. The only downside is I'm not sure the FW kit includes the Pulsar, so you might have to convert it.

Although it's negligible you forgot the one extra weapon (the phoenix missile launcher) that's on the Hunter. The biggest deal is the hassle of converting.
