Calgar was NOT written by Matt Ward. He has recently been updated by him, rules wise, but he's not a Ward character. He's an honourable veteran of the setting!

Isn't the latest version of his story him being made a quadruple amputee by a/the Swarmlord?

His head and chest were unharmed, so he survived enough to have bionics implemented.
