Resolute Ultramarine Honor Guard

Vancouver, BC

Finish painting my Space Marine force - just 2 lascannon marines to go for my 1500pt army! Also, paint my Stormraven, my Stormtalons, and a few of my dreadnoughts. Maybe my Assault Marines, 10 Terminators, old metal VVs, my Sternguard models I have left over from making Sergeants, my 7 Ultramarine Honor Guards... and any other left over models I have from various projects I flaked out on. (My counts as Pedro for my 1st UM army...)
Paint my Daemons - Get 1500pts of Chaos Daemons painted. It shouldn't be to hard, it's only 25 models.
Paint my brother's Dark Angels - 1000pts of Terminators/Bikes. Hopefully this shouldn't be to hard, either.
Paint the few Empire Models I have - need to figure out a paint scheme. Thinking Nuln. Now I just need to figure out what Nuln's colors look like.

Same here ! It's totally admirable though, i wish i had a prayer in hell of actually achieving this.

I just paint so slow, and i'm so OCD with my painting. At least i'm always happy with the outcome, even if it does mean 15 hours on one infantry trooper sometimes.

Yah it's not that I paint slow per say it's just painting is so boring haha. Although having an airbrush has alleviated some of the more tedious steps and allowed me to really focus on the details which is what I like doing more anyways.

The thing I love most about war gaming besides playing the games is collecting and converting. For some reason I have no problem spending an hour getting one little conversion detail right. But try and get me to basecoat a couple models for 20-30 minutes and I lose it haha. Although I will say I do have 3-2500 point 40k armies fully painted so I've been able to at least not lag too far behind my painting. So I always wish those of us who are willing to try and paint more than buy the best of luck!

To be fair, it's easy for me. I'm changing from renting to paying a mortgage, so my spending power will be significantly diminished. I think my biggest purchases will be this month - Morats for Inifinity and Tyranids. After that... not much I'd really buy.

Paint my Orks. Won't finish in a year, so paint at least one unit a month.

Dark Eldar- finish painting my Coven, before buying anything more for my Kabal.

Daemons - finish painting them entirely, and then Stop BUYING MORE.

I'm addicted :( I also live in a smallish place, and my shelves are groaning as it is.

Also - resolve not to start another army. Three is enough.

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...

Copy-pasting from the other (perfectly good?) thread.

High priority goals:
1. Stick to my current plan to not waste my hobby money on gak I don't have any use for.
2. Spend less time planning/thinking/chatting about my hobby and spend more time actually practising it.
3. Do extensive research and contemplating before buying into a new game.

Low priority goals:
1. Maybe (but only maybe) get myself an airbrush.
2. Scratchbuild more.
3. Maybe get back into 40K (but again, only maybe, and if I do it'll probably be something like Killteam or In the Emperors Name, if I can get more people to start it with me)
4. Try out an RPG (possibly combine this with point 3)

1.) Complete painting my Eldar
2.) Take the leap and buy that Phantom Titan I always wanted.
3.) Flesh out my X-wing Miniatures fleet, although this seems to be as much in FFGs hands as mine....
4.) Try to be less frustrated with the hyper-competitive people that feel the need to blast casual players off the board for ego boosts.

Get more terrain to use with my existing models and not more models themselves. Also, I should really get around to painting my likely last ever GW figure that I've had sitting on my painting desk primed for over six months.

Last year's resolution to simply get more playing time in and actual games met with moderate success. I went from a game every two months (almost always 40k) to one game roughly every month (usually X-wing, occasionally Heavy Gear and 40k).

So for last year I had

1) Play more often. I have 11 different table top games now. Only have played 2. I want to play the rest.
2) No buying new models until I paint what I have or get rid of it. (per game system)
3) Finish Black Templar painting (its only 36 models right now!)
4) Finish more Cadians
5) Paint all the Dreadball stuff I have. That should be easy!
6) Paint remaining Cygnar
7) Work on KoW, Project Pandora, and Dreadfleet
8) Either strip or sell Catachans.
9) Improve modeling skill (assembling and what not)
10) Improve painting skills (which will happen if I complete any of the above)

For this year, I will keep the same goals! Just add in Deadzone, Black Water Gulch, and Mars Attacks!

In all seriousness though:
1) Paint Black Templars
2) Paint Dreadball
3) Paint Deadzone
4) Paint Black Water Gulch

All I'm aiming for this year (other than keep expanding my DE army) is to actually find people to play with. I basically live in the middle of nowhere now so there's no nearby FLGS where I live, the closest being about 1h+ away, and with a busy work schedule I don't see myself being able to frequent any gaming events there. Wargaming communities, in my experience, are also quite cliquey, so it's hard to really get into them if you're not very regular there. Kinda wish I still lived in my old city where there was a great FLGS where I used to hang out a lot around ~10 years ago when I was really into the hobby.

1- Offload my painted DA 5th Company for a decent price.
2- Finish all my Malifaux crews (10 Thunders and Kirai crew)
3- Finish all of my IG vehicles (4 chimeras, 1 manticore and 1 Vendetta) as well as buy the upcoming book.
4- Finish ALL of my terrain. That one is iffy at best.

I will be traveling about 2 weeks out of every month this year. I will not make any resolutions that I know I will be unable to keep.

Therefore, my hobby resolutions are relatively simple:

1. Don't get an account suspension on Dakka.
2. Paint a Forgefiend
3. Assemble and Paint a Heldrake.
4. Assemble and Paint two units of Chaos Chosen.
5. Play 40k.
6. Paint Angron.

I have alot of projects to do, but I can commit to the following.

1) Finish my Bad Guy (Human and werewolf) KoW Army.
2) Finish at least 4 more 28mm Mechs and 2 buildings before running my Mech Attack game at Little Wars in April.

Beyond those two pitiful goals, I really have no idea what I'll be able to achieve now that my second child is here.

My secondary goals -which are also not terribly difficult- would be:
1) Paint up my Rebs Army for Deadzone and finish a 3x3 section of custom multi-tier terrain.
2) Do the "Abandoned El Station" terrain that's been sitting on my workbench for a month now.
3) Paint up the Sorylian Fleet Starter box so that next time the club plays Full Thrust I'll actually have my own ships.
