It's said the Thunder Warriors all fell in the last battle of the Unication Wars, but we know this to be a a lie (hinted in one or two HH books). So if they didn't die as history would portray, and SM's where either only on the drawing board or only just starting to be recruited. Then the only force able to take them on at the time where the Custodes. Which leads me to the conclusion that Custodes where the better of the two in the end. Plus TW were only meant to be a no perminant ficture as they're gene coding was inbuilt with flaws by the Emperor as a fail safe.

Come rest your wings, and let us talk eye to eye.
For I am a spider, and you are the fly. Now that you are here, let us sit, and say hi.
But I have have no morsel to share, nor anything to eat. But wait, what is that stickiness upon your feet.
Ah now I have you, now I can eat. Now I can enjoy you, or store you as meat.
For I am the spider, and you are the fly. How else could it have gone, between one such as you, and one such as I.

I'm pretty sure meeting a group of Thunder Warriors in the HH qualifies as more than a 'hint'.

Because he was representing a group of Thunder Warriors and attempting to stabilize their DNA before they died from age/mutation.

Let's keep it on topic guys. No arguing in the thread.
I'd probably say a Custodian, he's a lot faster than the Thunder Warrior and as far as I'm aware the Thunder Warriors were prone to going nuts, they also had weak spots (like MKII SM armour), their legs were unpowered and they overheated. I'm not sure what weaponry they had though. However, as for round 2 I doubt a Custodian could punch through a Thunder Warrior's armour.. They're pretty crazy good.

From the fluff in Horus Heresy: Betrayal, it seems likely they were armed with Volkite weapons.

Leadng a group of them? I must of missed that. I thought he was just leading some hive gangers and mercinaries. Could you tell me on what page he says that please as I need to reread that bit if that's the case.

Ghota and Babu Dhakal seem to be Thunder Warriors, but the others were just regular guys I thought. They were wearing armour similar to that worn of the Thunder Warriors.

In Wolf Hunt, Severian seems to be wearing armour taken from these men so if they were enhanced or not I can't remember.

Thunder Warriors are supposed to have greater brutal strength than a regular Marine, but the power level of a Custodian doesn't seem well defined in comparison, they are also certainly stronger than a Marine. Further, I think that the Custodian is far more greatly skilled in combat rather than relying on raw strength and power. The skill and discipline would give them the edge I imagine, though if either caught the other by surprise then they'd probably have the strength to kill the other quickly.

Didn't notice the thread had been renamed 'Who would win in a fight an Orbital Bombardment or a Custodes?'
