No Wraiths fortunately but I still had my hands full. This was one of the wonky missions with the primary being quite random . A mission like this can easily come down to the last few dice rolls and the last thing you want is an epic dice meltdown.

Well on the plus side it makes your opponent choose whether to keep his warriors in the scythes to try and grab the secondary late game or deploy them earlier on to try and wrack up points in the primary.

I win both rolls to choose my deployment zone and the pick of first or second turn. Both sides have a big multi level ruin in the middle of the deployment zone so it's a wash in that regard. I choose to go second to deal with any Necron squatters.

It potentially allows you alpha strike his Night Scythes with your hell drakes as well.

This will be an abbreviated report.

First turn is just jockeying units around. My opponent does manage to glance a rhino with a barge. I'm not too worried about the barges or the Stalker... I just want to kill all his scoring units. Daemon Princes swoop forward into area terrain for the cover save. The first objective marker scatters into my lap—it's only worth one battle point but it didn't scatter into my opponent's deployment zone so that's something. His scarabs run up close hiding behind terrain... I could have assaulted them with either Prince but I don't see them as a major threat so I ignore them.

Second Turn
The second objective marker also scatters back into my deployment zone so one less thing to worry about.

Necrons
One NS arrives from reserve... It targets one of my Princes but can't get through the cover saves. Barges move up and start to pound my forward rhinos, popping one for First Blood. The scarabs move into position to assault another rhino and assplodes it—Plague Marines are forced to emergency disembark.

Chaos
In comes one Heldrake and the Great Unclean One. The Greater Daemon lands to the empty side of my opponent's central ruin - minimal scatter. The remaining rhino (Warlord inside) hunkers back to remain out of LoS from the barges.. Both Princes vector strike the NS blowing it out of the air... One less enemy scoring unit to worry about. The Heldrake vaporizes all of the scarabs and a meltagun manages to explode one of the barges.

No he can take everything from Biomancy.

Turn 3

This turn the objective marker scatters laterally over to my right in neither deployment zone... So far so good.

Necrons
The second NS fails to arrive from reserve. The Warriors from the first (destroyed) NS come in automatically but will have a long march ahead to reach any objective at this point. The two remaining barges and Stalker all advance forward. Most of his shooting is focused is on the GUO but it shrugs off every shot, laughing at the angry Necrons... They know what's in store for their mates in the ruin.

Chaos
The Plaguebearers and second Heldrake fail to show. The GUO ambles into the building ready to assault the Necrons inside. Both Princes drop into glide mode to assault the other squad of Immortals outside. One squad of Plague Marines drop the Stalker with another meltagun shot while a barge is brought down to one last HP in melee by another squad. The GUO slams into the Immortals and passes his first MSS test crushing the Lord... They pass their break check and the Lord gets back up... Oh well. The Chaos Daemon Prince accepts the challenge versus the other Lord, passes his MSS test as well and pulverizes the Lord. The CSM Prince then drops around six of the Immortals—here is where it starts to get really crazy... My opponent rolls snakes for the break check—The Lord and all but one Immortal get back up... Crazy !

From wyomingfox:

For an extra 10 points could you have found a means to stick an exalted rewards into the list? So many of your units -- both daemon and CSM -- have an Invulnerable save and in certain matchups could benefit from the Grimour and a 3++...or given that you have 4 troop units, a portaglyph might grant some extra assistance in multiple objective missions?

I am not a big fan of the portaglyph since it can be so random. I will definitely give the GoTN a whirl though... It works best with Kairos obviously who I have no desire to run .

Here is my first round opponent hamming it up in front of the camera...

His twin brother beat jifel in the first round .

Turn 4

Necrons
The four point objective marker scatters just a short distance landing in between our deployment zones... Kind of in a tricky spot—I don't think my opponent will make a play for it as his Immortals are locked in combat and it's close to my Plague Marines. The second NS automatically arrives from reserve zooming in along its long table to avoid my Heldrakes.

His remaining barge blasts my first Heldrake out of the air... Gotta just love those Tesla destructors ! We are back to close combat. Again my GUO passes it's MSS test, pastes the Lord again who then proceeds to get right back up... Oh well, I have them tied down which is what I really wanted anyways. In the other combat again the Chaos Daemon Prince accepts the challenge then failed its MSS test, wounding itself. The CSM Prince drops six Immortals this time ! My opponent then proceeds to roll a 3 for his break check... FRACK !! The Lord gets back up again along with five Immortals... Unbelievable.

Chaos
My second Heldrake automatically arrives along with the Plaguebearers. The Heldrake vector strikes the wounded barge and manages to pop it. Two squads of Plague Marines move to grab the 1 point and 2 point objective markers while the last rhino ferrying the Chaos Lord and third Plague Marine squad darts out from cover and also flats out towards the center of table to either grab or contest the 4 point objective marker. Shooting is minimal this turn. Melee recommences again... The GUO finally fails a MSS test and wounds itself twice. The Chaos Daemon Prince passes it's MSS test and crushes The Lord whom fails to get back up... finally. The CSM Prince nukes six Immortals—my opponent rolls a 3 again for his break check and four Immortals stand back up... I'm starting to see a pattern and it doesn't look good.

That was crazy. It's times like these where you want to go out and shoot the dog, figuratively speaking. Nothing more heart-crushing than to have to kill the same enemy over and over again.

Fifth Turn

This will be the final turn and one of my two times on a top table. I have a very bad feeling. The last objective marker (5 battle points) scatters out over 20" in a spot I can't reach with any of my Plague Marines. I feel like the game is out of my hands now.

Necrons
The remaining NS zooms over to the five point objective marker - the Warriors then disembark to claim it.

On to melee... First the GUO trashes the Lord but the Immortals easily pass their break check. In the other assault my Chaos Daemon Prince crushes the other Lord who also fails to get back up... The CSM Prince rolls a six for the Black Mace and wipes out the rest of the Immortals in that scrum... Free at last !!! Both Princes consolidate towards the 5 point objective marker and they are rightly p*ssed.

Chaos
My CSM Prince swoops over to contest the five point objective marker—game over. I just manage to squeak out the win. That was a roller coaster ride for sure. Grandpa Nurgle finally cut me a break.

So if I read the primary objective right, you scored VP for each game turn that you held an objective. If that is right, It might help to pull the second round battle report's rounds into a single summary post and then list the VP achieved towards the primary at the end of each game turn.

VPs were scored normal not asymmetrical.

Here are the rules for the second round versus Necrons...

Deployment - Vanguard Strike

Primary Mission - Take turns placing objective in completely within area terrain and ruins for a total of 5 objectives. If you have more objectives than area terrain or ruins take turns placing the remaining objectives 12 inches from any other objective. Each game turn you control an objective it is worth 1 VP. The player with the most VPs wins this mission. If both players have equal VPs then the mission is a draw.

Secondary Mission - Place 1 additional objective in the center of the table. This objective must be secured at all cost. All non- vehicle units can hold this objective (even if in assault). The player with the most units within 3 inches controls this objective and wins this mission. Equal number of units controlling this objective results in a draw.

Tertiary Mission - Any model that can issue and/or except a challenge is worth 1 VP if destroyed. The Warlord is worth 3 VPs. The player with the most VPs wins this mission. If both players have equal VPs then the mission is a draw.

Primary Mission: 8 Battle Points (WIN) 4 Battle Points (DRAW)
Secondary Mission: 5 Battle Points (WIN) 2 Battle Points (DRAW)
Tertiary Mission: 3 Battle Points (WIN) 1 Battle Point (DRAW)

Bonus Objectives (Each is worth 1 VP):
Slay the Warlord, First Blood, Line Breaker and Last Blood

This will be my last report... It's a quick summary of my fourth game versus Jetseer council. The plan was to box in the eldar from all four corners giving them nowhere to run and hide. Priority target number was the wave serpents. By the fourth turn my opponent conceded as I had eliminated most of his serpents and some other enemy units as well... Heldrakes took out all of the guardian jetbike squads with ease. Great opponent for sure... He had won all three games going into the fourth round.
