Warpping up all SM into one codex is not deleting them, it would be making for an efficient book. If you spend less pages on the recycled fluff which hasn't been updated since RT and cut out the showcase you can easily cram all SM into one codex. Yes, some there will be special units for some chapters like the BA or SW but you know what? They allready did that with the crussader squads for the Black Templars and the C:SM. That's what the codices were meant for. I'd be really pissed if they'd split the ork codex into dozens of clan-suplements for example.
I heard that Marines account for ~20-25% of all GW revenue, WHFB and all. But churning out more suplements for Marines doesn't mean they cater to the fans needs, it means they produce something, 80% don't care about.
Space Marines have I think the largest armoury and choice of Vehicles in all of 40k. If you can't build a fluffy or competitive list with that,, wargaming may not be the best for you.

I don't play BT but I think being put into the main codex is actually a plus for them as it means they will get updated rules much more often. I would agree to a supplement to give them some of their unique character back, but ONLY if the traitor legions get the same treatment. You BT players at least have chapter tactics. My Iron Warriors have nothing beyond a paint scheme that makes them different from their Word Bearer or Night Lord brethren (for example), despite a completely different idea of tactics and military organisation. On the other hand, given the rules-background compared to cost GW seem to be working on for their supplements, a set of Legion Tactics for Iron Warriors and the other Legions (released as an FAQ or in White Dwarf) might be better financially for chaos players than a supplement.

Any BT player would gladly trade their chapter tactics for a mark of Khor... Mark of Dorn

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

No.
Because then, instead of the "nuuuu we have no codex omg1" whining, we'd have the "GW is forcing us to buy two books to play Black Templars!!!!1!!!1" whining.
Which is even worse.

I'd buy a Black Templar supplement in a New York minute. (A New York minute is like a regular minute, but only has 60 seconds in it.)

So, what's the difference from a regular minute?

I guess the americans think that the metric minute has 100 seconds or something...

As opposed to churning out supplements for, say, Dark Eldar, where how big proportion of the fans would care?
