Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Rogue Traders arent there to trade, they are there primarily as conquistadors. Go beyond the Imperiums borders, add worlds to the Imperium through 'negotiation' and 'trade' with civilisations beyond the Imperium.

Both 'negotiation' and 'trade' are based around armed presence, with a heavy emphasis on private armies.

Rogue Trader vessels are indeed less focused and powerful than Imperial Navy vessels, but have a heavier transport capacity, not just trade goods but troops for ground campaigns.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.
