In Vanguard strike it is also possible to deploy more than 36" away from you the back corner is ~55" from the centre line of your deployment zone and depending on what else they have and terrain they can play keep away so you're not getting within 12" probably not getting with 18". You seem to be assuming that the Gravstar is always going second and doesn't have any LoS blocking terrain itself. Remember it is just as mobile as you in terms of getting in range and has a longer effective range and better damage output against you.

Also TOs can be wrong in their tournaments. They can FAQ anything they like to work the way they want. Anything they don't notify you of before hand should be played by the normal rules. If you have a disagreement with your opponent on a rule then the TO has to rule and yes his ruling is final but it may be incorrect and if you can prove so you should point it out to him at a later date. But it is at best dishonest if you continue playing that you can infiltrate characters without infiltrate unless your TO specifically calls out that rule change before hand. This is not a grey area at all there is no debate on how this works the rulebook specifically calls out this situation and says no.

Actually, I was giving a hypothetical for if I went first. If I go second I would heavily consider reserving the farsight bomb and letting him do nothing against my Firestorm redoubt until I could come on. The Flipside of doing that is that loth can't be in the farsight bomb the turn I deepstrike, but I'll be right where I need to be the turn I deepstrike so it probably does matter.

I've done so, the guy who regularly handles our tournaments has said he's fine to allow it to be played as it always has, so I feel free of conscience doing so. If he had ruled against it given the rules we've had a look at, and then I continued to play it that way? Then, I agree I would be cheating.

So why even bother asking rules questions? If your mate runs all the tournaments you go to and lets you make up whatever rules you want to make your army better why ask here? Just play by whatever rules you want why not run the Farscipio bomb where the Crisisuits are 1 point each fully equipped and have a rerollable 2++ and can move as far as they want and deploy anywhere they want and always go first...

Have you ever noticed how you're being a prick, Fling? It's easy to notice that you pulled this thread severly off topic and have started telling me that I'm a cheater. I asked about Severin Loth's psychic powers and status as battle brothers Specifically, not about Infiltrate. Because there was contention, I went and asked about infiltrate. I'm not doing anything that isn't kosher. The guy who runs these tournaments isn't my friend, He just runs a lot of tournaments in our state area. I asked him to make a ruling for his tournaments for me to abide by in future and that's what he's said, so I'm happy to let it continue that way. If I go to someone else's tournament (which I do, albeit usually I don't go with a farsight bomb if it's not a competitive tournament) I would ask again. IF they changed the nature of how I would play the rule I would follow what they tell me to do.

I never made any inclination to repricing the farsight bomb, nor to giving them a 2++, I never even said they always go first. What I told you, you presumptuous little gak is that I can beat Grav/O'vesa star *if* I have the first turn *comfortably*. I did not say that I always get the first turn, I merely made my arguments for if I got the first turn. If I don't get the first turn, I don't start on board.

Calm down its just a game of toy soldiers. What yoy appear to be missing is the difference between infiltrating the bomb at all and infiltrating it with non-infiltrating characters. The first is technically against RaW but there's some evidence it is possibly allowed RaI. This means it is a grey area that people will interpret different ways, so a TO calling it on the spot or just telling you in person that is how he reads the rule is fine.

Infiltrating with non-infiltrating characters attached is explicitly forbidden in the rules. This is not a debatable interpretation this is something they specifically call out and say no. Thus if your TO is allowing you to do this and not including it in his rule pack as a house rule for the tournament you and he are colluding to cheat all the other participants.

Plus from a social point of view if you make bold statements like my list has no weaknesses expect that to be challenged. Particularly if you're running one of the most well known net lists that has been illustrated to struggle against certain armies and builds...
