I won't be able to give a concise answer until I get my hands on an actual Scion kit. If there's bits in there to make them less flashy then I'll like them.

One of the paint schemes in the codex has all the armor bits woodland camo (well save for the right arm guard bit, but you can ignore that and do that in woodland too). There are a number of them in darker and more subdued colors too. So they apparently can do "subtle".
