I got three this morning when a large order I made arrived (cunningly split into 3). There's a great big CLASSIFIED sticker on it with an imperial eagle so the wife spotted I had spent at GW again. It's a nice sculpt, I love the scabbard, will keep one and eBay the rest

There was a cool one use code to get the matching captain as well in a sealed classified matching envelope inside.

I've got an order planned for over £60 so I'll be getting him but I will probably just sell him on straight away, don't collect 40K so have no need of him and see he's going pretty well on ebay so makes me money back on my order.
Also didn't see the cloak before. That is the strangest design ever, looks like a kids Halloween costume.

How many Space Marine Captain models are we going to get? Is somebody making a Chapter of Captains or something?

It is getting a bit silly...

I find the model lame, and the wargear to be silly. (Bolter, Power Sword, Power Fist).

I am very happy that gw are back to giving free stuff away for being a customer kinda like skullz but without the really crap wait while collecting a daft amount of loyalty stickers.

With the new IG dex and some direct only stuff (namely preachers, priests, and some bitz packs) it wasn't hard to put together a $100 order.

I not only ended up getting the free model by mail ordering some items I would normally have bought at the store, I also ordered the second model in the series, number 2 of 2.

I was going to make an order anyway so yeah, I got one. But he's going up for sale along with the sealed envelope. Power fist? I'm already getting rid of all my PF's in my army.

I do dig this model too, but he seems a lot more like something you can make with the older Space Marine Commander box set. He also doesn't have errant armor, which I'm an absolute sucker for.

The first model no, but the second one you can get after the first looks enticing. The skull studs on the cloak bug me, I know I can just shave them off but that's a lot of work to me.

I got mine already, solely because I had some stuff I wanted to order anyway and it came to enough to get him, but good lord that model is terrible. The sword's skullbard is something you can work with, it's a separate bit, easy to sub out or fix, but the absolutely ridiculous looking skulls all over the back of the cloak just leave me doubting that I'll EVER do anything with the mini at all. Gods, but they look silly, and several are down in the folds and are going to be a royal pain to clean up and get rid of.

I might get one. It won't be on purpose though. It's incredibly easy to spend $100 on two items nowadays.

Both of my mail orders to get these limited edition models were placed at my local store's order point so that I paid in the store, still giving them the sale.

I rarely get models from gw itself other that some HQs that I cant find in other places. I usually get mine at about 20% gw's price from other retailers.

I may end up getting it, because although the stuff I'm planning on buying I can get cheaper elsewhere, the Captain is 'worth' £18, so close to a 30% discount on the £60 I would be spending. Nowhere else offers that much off reliably, and the model is pretty cool, Cape-Of-Skulls aside.

I have one. I was putting the finishing touches on my army anyways, so a free Captain is cool. Especially when you're first starting out.

I myself had an idea for that skull cape, but I'll keep that to myself. I think the sword looks great and I was actually really looking forward to painting this guy. The powerfist looks easy to swap out, but really as he is this guy would make a good cheap HQ for smaller games. Put him in Artificer Armour, and the fist and bolter are what? Under 30 points for the both of em.
