This. I actually have a £1500 Tag that I now only wear whenever I wear a suit (so once a year, maybe). You can't beat a £8 Casio, which rather ironically keeps better time than the Tag.

I wear a basic, no frills Timex. Well, it has a few frills, indiglow light, and the date which is usually off. $50-ish; I've used it for years, forget exactly what I payed for it. Need to get a new band (leather) every few years when it wears out. I’m not a fan of the massive chunk of watch some people wear. Small, functional, unobtrusive.
For formal occasions I have a pocketwatch The Wife gave me as her wedding gift to me. Basic silver with our anniversary and my initials engraved on it. It used to be my everyday watch, but the spring seems to be giving out, so I just keep it for when I dress up these days. I also replaced the basic chain it came with with a gold chain that belonged to my great-grandfather.
My favorite watch was a WB one with wille coyote holding a lightbulb, when you pressed the light button electrocuted him. broke beyond fixing unfortunately.

I got a Superman watch for Xmas, which was nice.
Then I found the strap brought me up in a rash, which wasn't.
So now it sits on the shelf and I bluff my way, freed from the shackles of timekeeping, through life.

I have a cheapo Tourneau (no pic) I got from work as a five year service present, and I'm currently awaiting my order of a very nice (to my eyes anyway) Android Armor 9321 from woot:
In addition, I have one of these that's been in the family a few generations. Doesn't work due to my grandfather dropping it, but I intend on getting it fixed one of these days:

It's a great high end watch, it's the kind of thing that those 'in the know' will appreciate and a little less obvious and more individual than a Rolex.

I've heard of this in multiple places. I was curious if it was an actual phenomenon, or if someone just made it up to make themselves sound like James Bond the SOF operator. Very cool. I think a Rolex given as a wedding gift is meaningful enough to risk it on a deployment. If it breaks, it's romantic, and if it lasts, it's a war trophy. I'm assuming you're an officer, because a rolex wouldn't last very long in the hands of an enlisted person, ha

When I was still a tanker I would joke with my crew, that if we got hit and I got messed up, who ever got my bleeding and burnt body out of the turret could keep the watch.

I love my watch. I must have looked through thousands to find it. I guess it's the unusual shape that appealed to me. I've had it a long time now, but it's amazing how new it still looks. I don't know what Titanium-carbon-nitrate is, but they should make everything out of it! I think if I did get blown up by a tank, my watch would probably be the only thing to survive unscathed.

I have a fancy(ish) watch that I don't wear all that often.
My current watch:
Backstory:
When I was in Germany last year for my grandfathers funeral I picked up this old watch of his. He was a big jewelry wearer and had a ton of necklaces, bracelets, rings, watches, etc. My grandmother was trying to give it all to my brother and me but neither of us are really wear any kind of jewelry, but in the end I picked up one of his watches.
He worked all his life for the railroad and the watch I picked up is a small Deutsche Bahn issue replica of the official DB clocks that you will find at all German train stations. I would be surprised if it costs more than $20 and most likely it was one of those small company issue presents or 'here, wear this at work' kind of things. But the railroad was his passion (me and my brother wore the official, and illegally obtained, Deutsche Bahn neckties to the funeral) so it means a lot to me to have it.
