Hence, we get a lot of the "combo kits", where a single sprue is added to the box which gives an option for a whole other unit. Best candidates for doing this are those with the most units to update and which can be easily "converted" with a single extra sprue. We've seen how easy it is to do with elves, I can only assume beastmen to be equally easy, and combo horse kits we have seen before too a-la bretonnia. Skaven, however, are fairly varies in appearance.
This doesn't really apply to beastmen or skaven though.
Firstly: Beastmen have very few models that look even remotely similar. Beastigors are rocking heavy armor and halberds, Gors
OTOH are practically naked and Ungors are meant to be visibly smaller and different; heck, they're even on different sized bases right now. That would be like trying to make a
WoC / Marauder dual kit; it just wouldn't work. Beyond that, Minotaurs are the only
MI units available, Centigors are the only cavalry. We do have the 1 dual Cygor/Gorgon kit already, but that's about it. The only other thing you can make a dual kit from would be the chariot options. Beastmen share a few options with other armies (namely Hounds and Spawn with
WoC and Harpies with Dark Elves), but what unique chioces they have rarely make double kits (excepting weapon swaps like Ungor/Ungor Raiders). And really, the models for Beastmen (excepting the awful Razorgor) are still perfectly good looking. Gors, Bestigors, Ungors are decent kits with good options, Minos are fairly new (if poorly painted in the sample kit). Centigors need a plastic kit, but I think that's pretty much it when it comes to the existing Beastmen model line. Chariots too, although those are a bit easier to kitbash with a
WoC chariot and a few Gor/Bestigor models.
Secondly: skaven are far less varied in terms of look; they're all rat men. They might have varying weapons or armor but as the current model line shows you can easily mix clan rats and slaves in a box. I agree that the models are all good, and don't really need to be redone, but things like night runners/gutter runners stand out for how old (and awful) they look.
Bretts, obviously, have the easiest time making dual kits. I mean, 3 of their units are basically the same base with different weapons. Shouldn't be hard to do a Man-At-Arms/Peasent Archers combobox. Depends on their new stuff I guess.
