Subway? Junk food? Surely you jest sir, for I have viewed the commercials and I know Subway does to things; makes you healthy and gives you aids (named Bob and Ted).

Yeah junk food.

Here's my typical subway order:

12 inch white bread = low fibre, high in sugar and salt

Cheese = high in salt and saturated fat

Meatballs = high in salt and saturated fat, plus excessive red meat increases my chance of bowel cancer

So yeah, junk food!

Sure, I could add some onions or God forbid, lettuce, but it's an American chain, so I eat American style.

You have an interesting definition of junk food. Also, my sammiches from Subway always have lettuce, green peppers, and banana peppers on wheat bread, because that extruded foam they call white bread can go feth itself.

Just because it's American doesn't mean you have to order it like you're American.

I personally like Subway now and then, and while I readily concede that they do offer some healthier options, would definitely consider them to be a purveyor of junk food - just as I would McDonalds, who offer a salad as I understand it.

People take their $5 foot longs very seriously.
5$ ? That is quite inexpensive compared to how much we pay for it in France!

Also our Subway are not bulletproof. Nor are our gas station, AFAIK. Not going to comment on why .

Come to think of it, $5 for a Subway footlong is a steal. Perhaps that's why there's bulletproof glass...

Seriously though it's like 6 quid for a footlong over here, probably more now as I've not had a subway in about 2 years.

Somehow, 6 quid footlong just doesn't ahve the same ring to it.

Just had a wee look on their website, it's 5 quid.

They must universally agree that the 5(currency) for a footlong must apply to every country.

We appear to be getting screwed on this system however! We must take to the streets!

It is clearly more than 5€ around here. Depends from one subway to another, but pretty much always more than 5€. Also depends on what meat you take. I always take the vegetarian stuff, but IIRC it is not even always in the same prize category.

If only the sub had a gun, it could protect the workers better than the glass!

Seriously, it took until page two for this? You guys are really off your game today.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I went to a Jersey Mike's once. The sandwich was like... mayo soup with bread and stuff in it. Never went back.
